If there'd been one vast inconvenience since being depowered, it was the concept of walking. Short distances, it was fine. But goodness, how tedious is it to walk around obstacles? She'd watched humans struggle with this every day! She understood their incredulous anger over it.
But this new form...it didn't work the same.
"Flying. I didn't have to think about it at all before." Absinthe would mumble to herself as she hopped in place a few times to try and float.
Ah. Gravity. How it pulls you down.
She'd place her arms behind her back as she thought, trying to place how other races achieved it. Clearly there were other means if less significant forms could do it!
"The concept of qi. How do I use that to fly?" she'd wonder some more.
She'd start by channeling it, feeling the energy flow and testing her control of it by bringing it forth to her hand as an orb. That much was rather simple. But to fly?
"Bringing it to my feet would just cause a burst. I'd reach some incredible heights...but I would come back down." she'd mumble.
Then maybe she needed it to flare out. Then lift.
Absinthe would gently close her eyes, letting out her energy, causing the grass beneath her feet to ripple. After a moment of getting used to this, she'd relax her body and let the energy lift her...just a bit at first...then higher and higher.
"Ah. So that's it." she'd chuckle, opening her eyes and looking way down at the forest below.
"It'll be a bit more taxing than I'm used to. How exciting~!"

Perhaps she was jumping the gun a bit, but, traveling most certainly was a challenge she was facing. Flying helped, but you know what was better?
Teleporting.
Absinthe knew the fundamentals of it, but, in her new state, tapping into magic was NOT at all simple. It would take a lot more work than she was used to. So for today? She'd concentrate on getting part of the way there.
She stood quietly with her eyes closed, gently moving her hands and arms around to tap into the flow of magic. She could feel it dance around her fingers, small specks of magical energy dancing around her. It was minuscule, but it was THERE. That's what mattered at the moment.
Slowly she tried to shift the magic to envelope her. She was only able to create a single wall in front of her, but, it gave her a sense of what she was capable of currently...and where she needed to go.
That was step one.
"Step two...expand and cover...step three, move from point A to point B." she spoke softly.

It was time to move on to phase two!
Absinthe retraced her steps from last time, tapping into her magic and slowly creating the wall she'd been able to do. She was pleased to see she could pick back up from there without too much trouble and for the moment she just practiced her hold on it. After she felt more confident on her control, she'd move on to step two.
"Now...expand the wall..." she'd whisper to herself, her eyes closing as she willed the energy to expand further. At first, she only tried to 'stretch' it. As long as it could become taller or wider, she could finesse into it enveloping afterwards.
Her brows would furrow. Somehow...it felt difficult. Like it was fighting against her somehow. This wasn't something she'd ever felt before. It demanding a lot more of her energy...something she had considerably less of now.
A bead of sweat would drip down her face as she stopped trying to force the energy to widen, and, instead tried to let it spread across her body. Instead of creating a bubble, so to speak, she'd try to create something...smaller. More tight-fitting. Like a spandex suit! Of MAGIC!
With it covering less of an area, Absinthe found she had less to fight against and she also had to less energy she needed to pour out. The light would slowly cover her body until she was able to get a sense for it.
Then she let it go.
With a soft exhale, she took a moment to gather herself before trying it again. This time, she made it appear as she had in an instant. But it quickly dissipated into small specks of light and Absinthe would sit on her knees.
"I may need to do this a few more time before I attempt the teleportation." she'd chuckle to herself.
Ah well. The next few days would be dedicated to that.

Phase three!
Absinthe would one again go through the previous steps! It took much less time now, however, as she'd been practicing getting the aura to cover her for some days now.
As she activated her energy, the aura would already surround and envelope her, almost second nature at this point. Absinthe would pause a moment to get familiar with it before deciding she was ready to try and move from here to there.
She still remembered what it was supposed to feel like...but with magic so much harder to manipulate now, she wasn't sure it could happen in a blink like she was used to. No...she'd have to start with a shorter distance first. Perhaps she should worry about even getting it to work first.
Her eyes would stare at the spot she wanted to go for a moment before she'd commit it to memory and close her eyes. With the energy flowing, she'd try to warp over there!
Nothing.
Alright...maybe it needed more effort! Absinthe would push out more power and squeeze her eyes shut!
She could feel...something. Like the power swallowing her up. When she'd open her eyes, she'd...be slightly to the left of where she used to be.
"Ah. I did it...but I'm going the wrong way." she'd tell herself. Also the problem of not going very far.
Absinthe would attempt it again, and, this time she'd be going the right way...but it was one again a very short distance.
Unsure of how to reach her goal, Absinthe would try the previous trick of putting more power into it. She'd slowly build up more and more until she was CERTAIN it should be enough. Then...like the last time, she'd close her eyes.
This time when she opened them, she'd be slightly past where she wanted to be! Elated, Absinthe would go for a cheer, but, instead would collapse back; sweating.
"Oh dear. It takes a lot more effort than I thought." she'd laugh. "Longer distances might be a goal for later..."
In any case, she had it figured out! She had no doubts it would become easier as she got stronger!

With magic finally unlocked, Absinthe decided it would serve her well to remember how to sense energies. Losing that ability was like losing one of your senses suddenly. She felt strangely blind without it.
Knowing how to use Ki and also being able to feel it's subtle difference to magic, Absinthe decided to utilize that power a bit more. Like with learning flight, she controlled the energy and tried to read it. Yes there was a basic understanding of her own strength already...but she wanted to sense it as though she was sensing another. Doing so on herself just felt less...weird than focusing aggressively on a being of this planet. She was a guest, after all. She'd already weirded out enough locals as it was.
The longer she channeled the energy, the easier it seemed to become to feel it. She could pinpoint the sensation that revealed the strength of it only. It raised her hairs a bit.
She'd let her power dissipate before placing a hand on her cheek.
"The difference is far greater than I imagined."
Then she'd just kinda laugh about it.
"Well. I have a better grasp of how much work I truly need to do for the sake of Earth."
It was a doozy.

A new minor inconvenience she'd realized was the lack of telepathy.
Sending messages over long distances was oh so convenient. Also, being able to answer such messages should a connection be severed would be nice too. You never know.
Absinthe would be back on Tuffle harassment duty as she watched them go by on their day to day. She'd be focusing on the ones not moving around too much, trying to send a message into their mind. To make sure it was working, she'd try to have them look at her.
For a while she was just talking to herself though. She'd get the odd glance, but she could tell it was likely just from noticing her intense staring from the way they didn't seem startled before that.
She finally got somewhere when she tried to send a message to a Tuffle standing about, and they looked around in confusion before asking "Hello?".
Ah! Voices in the mind can sometimes sound as though they were out loud! She doesn't know how much she got through to him but this was her chance to press on.
"Hello! I....over....wave!"
The Tuffle man looked a bit sketched out, shaking his head as if he was sure he was hearing things from working too much.
One more time then.
"Hello! I'm Absinthe, over by the market! If you see a purple girl, please wave!"
The man laughed to himself, shaking his head as he looked over to the market. Lo and behold...there she was. He wasn't crazy.
Despite the look of surprise...he waved. Absinthe waved back! He walked away quickly.
Now that she knew she could do it...a few more Tuffles would have to suffer her tests. It was harmless at least?

Back when she wanted to see something or someone far away, she needed only to glance at her staff.
Without it...she felt a tad blind.
Not that she had any sort of motives to see something far away she'd been to before. Not at all! It's just a matter of convenience and perhaps it would be a useful skill to help others!
Earth is so out of her mind! Ahaha~.
But. That is a place that's far that she could try to see. Just to practice.
Absinthe would turn to magic this time...something she was slightly more familiar with. She would cast the energy towards her eyes then manipulate it to a scope.
She'd memorized all the ways to earth...so it was easy for her to seek the planet out. In and in she went until she could see the familiar blues and greens of the place she loved most of all. She smiled to herself, inching closer and closer...just to see. Were they well? How much had changes since she last gli-
Absinthe would squeeze her eyes shut as she felt a pang on pain in her head.
Ah.
Was she caught? Or was there something done to keep her from Earth in most manners?
Unfortunate.
But at least she was able to see it from afar. Even just a bit.

With the prophecy heavy in her mind, Absinthe was determined to get through some training. She could no longer be content with existing in a space. She had a destiny that would impact her beloved Earth, and she would do anything to reach the potential she required. "I know but one manner in which to attack." she'd mumble to herself, raising her hand towards an empty space and watching as a beam fell from the heavens, crashed into the ground, then extended outwards. Like a cross. That attack alone left her tired. She sat down, breathing heavily before wiping sweat from her head. "As I feared, I have little to offer. I must be able to fight." She would take a moment to regain some energy, contemplating on what she could teach herself. More beams were likely a direction she'd head in...but something to help with short range felt important. She opened her hands, closing her eyes as her energy began to form two ornate maces the approximate size of an umbrella, which she clasped in her hands. As she looked at them, she could feel like her strength grew. Turning to a sturdy looking desk, she brought the mace down on it, easily breaking it with a loud crack. "These will be perfect~." ---- Learned: Astral Weapon- Absinthe creates two maces out of energy, giving her physical attack using them +15% PL.

Absinthe felt as though her connection to magic was incomplete. She could tell it was more than just a lowered power...some things just felt out of reach.
Healing.
That should be a simple way to start. Life and healing were things she quite liked. Learning how to use it again would be lovely. And useful. And perhaps what changes the fate of a future.
Absinthe would stand before a wilting flower in a basket outside of a person's window. She'd place her hand above it, trying to feel for an energy lines. They were of course faint, but, the plant was not dead. Just...very near.
Having sensed the plants energy patterns a bit, Absinthe knew which ones to search for when trying to conjur magic compatible with flora. And yet...she was having difficulty. Textbook-wise, she knew everything she needed. Why, then, couldn't she put it into practice?
"It's less of an equation and more like developing a talent." she'd murmur to herself. Even if you know how to ride a horse, understand what you must do...your body hasn't done it before.
She'd sit in front of the basket, continuing to try and pull the right sort of magic.
Right as she was about to give up...small orbs would finally appear and dance around the plant before being absorbed. Absinthe would gasp.
Some colour would return to the poor thing...but it wasn't well.
She would need to do more.

The fallen angel returned to her 'studies', her hand hovering over the plant she had tried to heal last time.
It had slowly wilted back to its previous poor state, so Absinthe would go through the process of returning its colour again, before pondering how she could push it further.
Absinthe would glance up at the sunshine, then at water stored in a jug for watering the plants.
These were things plants relied on. On earth they did, anyway....so it may be the same here. If she combined two elements that were used to keep plants thriving, maybe the healing would improve.
Absinthe would conjure up the magic she had access to, tapping into various elements and keeping her thoughts on life and healing as she combined it all into a spell. Then, she would release it into the wilting plants.
It seemed a success. The plants would perk right back up, and, as far as she could tell, it was not a fleeting thing. Not a bandaid, so to speak.
Confident they would remain better, Absinthe would set her sights on a new subject.
People.

Time had gotten away from her!
But no more.
With a new place came new subjects. She'd finish developing real magic for sure! And then...she could carry on with fully refining her healing.
Not to leave them mutually exclusive, Absinthe would find an area where trees seemed to have been pummeled quite heavily.
Finding a Rhosian nursing her bruised hand, Absinthe would happily approach them.
"I see you've become injured through your training."
"Huh? This? That's nuthin'." the woman would scoff, looking at her ribbed and bruised knuckles as though it was but a scratch.
"You're very strong." Absinthe would nod.
"But may I soothe them?"
The woman would sigh and reach her hand out.
"If it makes you feel better, hurry up with the salve."
Absinthe would smile, placing one hand over the woman's knuckle, and the other underneath to hold the hand up. She'd close her eyes, summoning her power forth as she let it flow through the woman and guide her body's natural healing process into accelerating. She'd also infuse more energy to keep the process from being taxing on the woman...and instead let it feel warm and calming.
Which worked for the briefest of moments.
The woman would pull her hand back quickly, look at her healed skin, then at the purple Angel before starting to back away.
"C-cursed! You're a cursed being! Using this...stuff! MAGIC!"
The woman would quickly run away, leaving Absinthe to stand there with a tilt of her head.
"Do they fear it more than injury? How interesting." she'd chuckle.

Alright, she remembered magic, she could teleport again, and she could fly. What other skills did she miss using?
Absinthe sat in her borrowed ship, looking over at a book that sat somewhat out of reach.
Telekinesis. Of course. What better way to solve minor inconveniences?
Seeing as she was already seated, Absinthe would keep her hand reached out as she closed her eyes, using her mind to try and reach towards the general direction of the object. She could feel her energy reach out, but, it couldn't seem to quite grasp the object. Like it was too...slippery. You know those crane games? Yeah. No grip or enough force. So the book would more slightly but just sort of slip back down.
"Now why would it do that? Not enough resolve?" she'd ask herself, opening her eyes and staring at the book.
She was actually feeling a bit tired. Like she was trying to lift something too heavy.
Absinthe would sit there for a moment, regaining her composure. Resting her...brain muscles. So to speak.
It seems her power level in the past might have had something to do with the ease of grasping objects. Like picking something up with two fingers and being fine.
"More fingers then." she'd nod to herself.
Absinthe would close her eyes once more, this time trying to attach more energy to the object to make sure it was well within in her grasp. Once she was mostly confident, she'd pull it back towards her.
The book would coming flying at her as though yanked a bit too eagerly, hitting her in the gut! Absinthe would cough a bit before laughing.
"I...need to balance my overcompensation as well..."

There was to particular goal today! No real ability to train or create.
No, Absinthe decided it would be in her best interest to get used to her new form's mobility and...weakness.
She'd been careful, of course, but admittedly getting out of the mindset that few things can harm you was a difficult thing to do. She'd been lucky enough to avoid being punished for it, but that doesn't mean she has to wait for that to happen to try and be better!
Summoning her energy weapons, Absinthe gracefully danced about in order to get in as many movements as she could. There was something a bit nice about doing full reaches with her arms and legs when she'd been so used to standing perfectly erect with one arm behind her back and the other holding a staff. Actually, moving about with unnecessary and exaggerated movements was quite...fun!
She tripped a bit here and there, walking about still something quite new to her, but even that brought a smile to her face.
She struck air with her weapons, becoming more familiar with the weight and reach, but avoiding damaging anything around her. She wasn't much of a destructive person. That would have been up to whatever GoD she would have served.
So she'd stop and glance at a large boulder.
"Destructiveness..." she'd consider.
"Crucify."
Pointing her hand towards the object, a light would crash down from the heavens into it, blasting it to pieces. Two other beams would blast out towards the sides, cutting through rock and trees in its path.
Her eyes would widen a bit.
"I see. It's a little exhilarating, isn't it?"
She'd never gave it much thought before. Oh my.

Nature on various planets tended to be as fascinating as the people.
Harassment of such creatures, therefore, was fair game.
Absinthe twirled the maces in her hands, hopping lightly from tree branch to tree branch as she chased something akin to an Earth rabbit. It was small and quick, so keeping pace with it proved to be difficult.
Still, from the height she was in the trees, it gave her a pretty good lay of the land. Not to mention, she'd developed her eyesight quite a bit. Far sight and energy sense kept her on target, even if she lost the creature briefly due to a sharp sudden turn.
As she continued to hop and fly across branches, she could start to feel fatigue building up. If she was going to 'win', she'd have to decide when to do it soon. Opening, unfortunately, weren't presenting themselves.
After some more time, she could start to hear the sound of water. Knowing the creature likely wouldn't cross...or at least would pause before making the decision...Absinthe would fly on ahead to try and cut it off.
Like she assumed, the running water caused the creature to slide to a stop, and Absinthe would suddenly land next to it.
"Boop."
She'd lightly tap her mace onto the creature's head.
It jumped, stared at her briefly, then ran back the other way.
"Your heart-rate is quite high! Please find a place to rest!" she calls out after it, smiling to herself.

Absinthe had found such joy in moving things telekinetically that she'd been nearly abusing it. If she had to walk over to grab it, it was far too much trouble.
What she was realizing however is the lack of strength behind it.
The pace was terribly slow at times, and it just didn't seem to match up to her strength at all. Clearly she hadn't broken through certain barriers yet.
Picking up an eating utensil, Absinthe would throw it into the distance with all her strength to measure just how far and how quickly it reached its farthest point. With that as a reference, she brought the utensil back to herself before trying to fling it just as far with her mind.
A...poor attempt.
It truly was quite a bit weaker than she expected.
Over and over she flung it, trying to combine telekinetic energies with her qi to give it a bit of a boost. Making it mesh together, however, took quite a bit of figuring out.
Finally, she'd wind up doing something she'd never experienced. She lost her temper. Her frustration somehow came through and the utensil suddenly shot out, bypassing her furthest throw. Absinthe would gasp, placing a hand to her mouth.
Well...improvement is improvement. ---
