Ominous.
Another day passes, one with Zephyr explaining each one of his techniques to Rock, having found that it was easier to do them when telling someone else how. He could never tell an actual person, of course, that would be weird. They'd interrupt, or tell him he was doing something wrong.
Rock never did that. So Rock got to hear him talk about things.
Having just finished going through the last of his exercises, Zephyr sits down, propped up by Rock as he looks up at the sky, panting.
"...I wanna tell you a secret, Rock."
He pauses, takes the silence as agreement, then continues.
"I like fighting."
Wow, what a secret.
"...but I'm running out of things to fight here. I don't want to fight weaker people. I can't beat people like Inferno yet. Tempest and the moth woman are the closest right now."
And half the time, he can't find his brother. Maybe more than half.
"I want to get stronger. I want to be able to beat Inferno, and dad, and all those other clans. But I don't know if that's gonna happen, 'cause it's going so slow."
He closes his eyes, leaning back further against Rock.
"...I wish I was stronger."
He mumbles, falling asleep.

Zephyr awakens the Earth Spirit within Rock, his wish for power sealing the contract etching a symbol on his body allowing Rock's spiritual form and power to reside within him. Zephyr can now summon Rock who specializes in defense, buffs, and healing. The mark makes those knowledgeable in the old ways recognize Zephyr as a Mystic. Rock can communicate telepathically only with Zephyr or other spirits/mystics. Rock has only the knowledge of his surroundings that Zephyr does, but his personality is closer to a warrior monk. Philosophy and mutual understanding are as important to him as Zephyr's need to punch, however he understands the need for violence and the way of the fist. For now Rock shares a similar power level to Zephyr, but can not exist in the physical realm for very long. 5 posts if in combat.

"Alright. Now, the first move we're gonna practice is the headbutt, Rock."
Zephyr says, kneeling down as he stares at a particularly large boulder. He winds up, then, with a huffing breath through his nose, charges straight for it!
Only for it to move out of the way.
Zephyr comes to a skidding halt as the boulder stands up. One can almost feel how pleased it is to see him, and its voice comes through to Zephyr's mind like a proud grandfather.
Zephyr's eyes go wide, and he immediately scrambles away.
"WHAT ARE YOU!?"
The boulder seemingly chuckles, still speaking softly to him, while Zephyr scrambles back to Rock, picking it up. He refuses to leave it here to get smashed by... this bigger Rock.
This... Rock Too.
Zephyr turns and fires his massive silver beam of energy, and the boulder crumples from the impact. Then, it slowly gets up, like something out of a horror film from Earth. Another wordless exchange passes, and Zephyr squints.
"...are you sure?"
Detecting deceit isn't exactly his strong point, but Zephyr believes Rock Too when it communicates again.
"...alright. You can follow me around, I guess. Just don't steal my fights."

Punch. Punch. Punch.
Glare.
Punch. Punch. Punch.
Glare.
Punch. Punch. Punch.
Every so often, Zephyr turns to look from his training to glare at something nearby. A rock. A tree. Rock itself.
Anything could be listening. Stealing his secrets.
Punch. Punch. Punch.
Glare.
Now he couldn't even talk to Rock like he used to. Instead, he had to hold it in again like always.
Punch. Punch.
"Stupid hiding cowards."
He grumbles, finally stopping, a layer of sweat across his body. He looks around, then sighs. He wouldn't get surprised by anything again.
No inanimate object will ever be trusted again.

Flying is awful.
No matter how often he does it, Zephyr finds himself becoming more and more uneasy whenever he tries to travel by flying. At least when he jumped, he felt that comforting pull of gravity whenever his momentum started to stall, bringing him back down towards the ground itself. It was a fun feeling.
Not that he'd ever admit he had fun doing anything.
While currently hunting for his latest meal, Zephyr prepares for another leap to head to somewhere with more obvious prey. Suddenly, a large furry creature slams into him as he jumps, sending them both sailing into the sky, and the two start trading fists and claws with each other. As the momentum starts to bring them down, Zephyr feels the creature panicking, and on instinct wraps his arms around its waist to keep it from escaping, holding it from behind. Just before impacting the ground, he shifts their positioning, driving the creature headfirst into Terrac's sweet embrace, essentially obliterating it.
He slowly starts to pull himself out of the crater, having only taken some residual impact from the landing, while looking down at the creature.
"...I guess that's lunch."
----------------------------
Learning ability: Terrac's Embrace (Super German Suplex): Zephyr grabs hold of his opponent from behind and leaps high into the air, before slamming them headfirst into the ground! +20% Attack.

Training on a ship is even worse than flying.
Mostly because a ship flies a lot higher than Zephyr would ever want to fly himself. Plus it was all enclosed... stuffy...cramped.
Gross.
The best Zephyr can do while packed into the ship is to start doing some handstand pushups, as regular ones would take up too much room, eliciting some stares from those around him. He scowls as he works through the motions, silently hating each other person looking at him. There were very few he tolerated around himself, Zephyr realizes as he stands up.
Good ol' Rock was one of them.
Speaking of, Zephyr turns just in time to see someone put their hand on Rock, which causes him to grab the man's wrist painfully hard.
"Don't touch Rock."
"Ow! C'mon man, I was just looking! It's not like any other rock I've seen..."
Zephyr squeezes harder, and the man howls, pulling back.
No more time for training. People were trying to steal his things. No one touches his Rock.

It's been minutes since he left the ship, and Zephyr hates it.
This planet felt all wrong. The air felt weird, the ground was strange, the city was.... ugh.
Just awful. At least he brought Rock and Rock Too.
The two of them reminded him of home, even though Rock Too was... well... also weird. But Rock Too spoke to him sometimes, which was more than he could say for Rock.
Unless...
Zephyr summons Rock Too into existence, who happily bounds up to him.
"Can you talk to Rock?"
He asks, pointing at the strangely bumpy item he's standing next to. Rock Too looks at him, looks at Rock, then back to Zephyr.
Then shakes his head.
"...huh. Must be different rock types. Alright, then fight me."
Zephyr shrugs, before starting to swing at Rock Too. At the very least, some sparring would take his mind off this nightmare of a different world for the moment, until he maybe had a chance to go back to Terrac.

"Why are you as strong as I am, Rock Too?"
Zephyr finally speaks up after one of his short fights with Rock Too. He never saw the thing train like him, yet every single time they battled they were exactly the same strength. The only way Zephyr won was because Rock Too would be unable to continue after a minute or so.
The answer comes in his mind, and it just makes Zephyr frown.
"That doesn't make sense."
And, with everything he doesn't get, he opts to just ignore it.
Instead, Zephyr goes back to Rock, the original one that was strangely shaped. This one, at least, never got up or spooked him. Instead, Rock was Rock. Reliable, dependable Rock that would never change on him.
Ever.
"We're sleeping here today."
Zephyr announces to Rock and Rock Too, sitting so he's propped up by Rock in a seated position. Then, without another word, he simply passes out.
Just like that.

"Alright, Rock, it's time to train."
Rock Too instantly bounces up into existence next to Zephyr, who looks at it and frowns.
"Not you. You don't need training. Rock does."
Rock Too seems to slump a little before falling flat again, and Zephyr turns to Rock and picks it up.
"I'm not gonna be around to protect you all the time. So you're gonna go through some motions. You've watched me fight a bunch of times, now it's your turn."
Holding Rock out in front of him, he starts spinning and jabbing it forward, mimicking throwing punches and kicks through the object he held in his hands. He's slow at first, as if he's trying to let Rock get used to it, before he starts picking up speed.
Zephyr even jumps a few times, though he's careful to make sure he lands first instead of Rock. Rocks tended to be weaker than he was.
After a while, he sets Rock down, panting a bit.
"Good job, Rock. Few more times like that, and you can start fighting Rock Too."

Zephyr sits cross-legged in front of Rock.
Staring.
How could it deceive him like this? Rock wasn't even a rock! It was... an egg, or whatever that magic woman had said. Zephyr had never seen an egg that size, so clearly, "Rock" had done something to make itself look like a rock to trick him.
"Why'd you do it, Rock? Trying to steal my moves?"
They weren't particularly fancy, but they were still his. What an end to a beautiful friendshi-
Rock Too bounces up into view and starts speaking. The frown on Zephyr's face grows, even though parts of it... made sense, he supposed.
"Yeah, but I thought he was a rock. It's different."
Again, Rock Too speaks to him, and Zephyr snorts.
"...whatever."
He slowly gets up, then walks closer, bending down to look at Rock from inches away. His eyes narrow for a moment, and he stands back up, then pats it on the top.
"Alright. Whenever you come out of there, I'll teach you how to fight, then. Me teaching you while you're still hiding isn't going to do anything."

Zephyr feels a quick and sudden pain in the palm of the hand he pats Rock with. Some white swirl appears like a new scar, and if he looks at the spot he pat rock, there would be a Black swirl that matched his perfectly.

Zephyr's pretty sure that Rock bit him.
However, since he's never had an egg before, he figures that was the only way Rock knew how to agree, and as such, doesn't take it as an attack. This time.
No, instead he'd take this as another opportunity to practice. He'd already... uh... "beaten" someone in that strange tournament he was taking part in. That, in itself, reminded him of a constant issue he'd run into.
No one wanted to fight.
The thought was troubling, and it makes Zephyr stop in the middle of his punching. People just... turning down his fights was depressing. It was like they had no concept of what it meant to fight. How could he deal with people like that?
Rock Too bounces into existence, almost excitedly offering him advice.
"No, Rock Too. I want to fight people. That's a dumb idea."
Rock Too would frown if it could, but then gives him another idea.
"...you think that would work?"
It nods, and Zephyr thinks about it for a minute.... then nods back.
"Alright, we'll do that."
He looks at Rock Too, determined, then confidently says his favorite words.
"Fight me."
Rock Too falls apart.
Zephyr has no idea whether it worked or not, but he'll just... take Rock Too's word for it.
----------------------------------
Learning ability: Fighting Spirit ("Fight me") - Zephyr challenges an opponent to battle him, using his Ki to draw their attention and envelop them. If the opponent engages him in battle, this ability has no effect. If the target ignores Zephyr or refuses, they take damage equal to Zephyr's power level +15%.

"So that's how you start a fight."
Zephyr points out to Rock, cracking his knuckles. He looks around for a moment, then nods.
"Alright. So to finish a fight, you wanna hit your enemy with something big. There's a couple ways to do that."
He says, getting Rock Too to suddenly appear.
"The first one is to overpower who you're fighting. For some reason, Rock Too's as strong as me, so that's not what we're doing."
It was weird to talk strategy, but no one else was around, so he was able to say it without worrying.
"Other ways work, like hitting them when they're not looking. Usually that means sneaking it out during the fight so it's a surprise, or wearing them down so that they can't dodge it right away."
He pats Rock again, then tosses him towards Rock Too. Rock Too struggles to catch it, almost frantically, before Zephyr suddenly drives Rock Too into the ground with a heavy punch, catching Rock afterwards as it hung in the air.
"See? Like that."

"Now this is the tricky part, Rock."
Zephyr says seriously, nodding in front of his current... protege.
"The most important part of fighting is what I can't teach you. You gotta know how to fight, which you do. But, you need to come up with ways to fight on your own. The different moves, like the ones I taught you."
Like when he headbutted a boar.
"You'll have to figure out what you do best. I don't know what you're gonna look like, Rock, or what you're gonna be good with. I don't know if you can punch or kick, or fly..."
He sighs through his nose. It really didn't help that he had no idea what Rock was going to turn into, since he only just learned it's an egg.
"...so I guess when you come out, we'll work on it. If you got teeth, you can bite. Horns can stab. Claws might be good too. Maybe you can teach me too, I'll figure something out from how you fight."
