Keerie withheld her laughter just as she withheld her sadness at the mention of her husband back on their home planet.
Only, unlike with the rue, her eyes danced in merriment as she dished them both seconds.
She may have ate a bit more sedately, but, she could eat just as much.

He looked up at her defiantly.
"Tasting is for the weak. At least as far as food goes."
He kept his lips together but gave a little smile, sharing his passion for food.

"Gobbling down your food without tasting even a bit of it makes you a wretch." Came the swift retort, the icejin sitting straight. "I'm sure your mom finds it a compliment you down it so fast but she probably put effort into it, too, you dolt."
Her tail gave an errant swish.

Keerie used her bowl to hide a smile, letting the two work things out for themselves. She currently offered no input.

One hand holding chicken, the other hand holding bread, Okara thumped the table and pointed.
"Hey! Flinging insults just shows you're lacking the intelligence to hold a discussion. And I compliment my mother by showing how eager I am to eat her food, and she knows it."
To drive his point home, he took another zealous bite of chicken.

"Maybe."
That was all she said, tail tip twitching just once back and forth. Then she put the Saiyan's out of her mind and silently ate.

Okara would roll his eyes, digging back into his food. Damn proud Icejin, thinking she's all knowing....He'd like to put her in her place.
Unfortunately, he just wasn't the type.
Time crept on and he finally got full, leaning back after his fifth helping and letting out a pleased sigh.
"Dooooone...that was soooo good. Thanks Mom."

Aisuko spent the rest of the meal in blessed silence. She could actually be at peace with this, perhaps, if things just stayed relatively quiet.
She glanced at Okara as he finished, spooning the last bit of rice and meat into her mouth before setting her bowl and chopsticks aside.
"Thank you. You are a good cook."
And she proceeded to begin stacking the empty bowls and plates, her tail reaching out to bring those otherwise out of her reach towards her.

"You're both very welcome."
She tilted her head a little as Aisuko began cleaning, and smiled to herself, joining in.
"Thank you for your help, Aisuko."

Okara blinked as Aisu started taking away dishes- how lucky was he! That was part of his duties and he hated it. Now he would stand and scratch his head, taking his plate to the sink. Turning back to them he would start heading for the hall, and up the stairs.
"I'll get started on her room!"
And so he would begin cleaning Aisuko's room!
Achievement unlocked: Aisuko has a home!

The icejin focused on her task! After the dishes were done and through, she stepped outside without a word.
Into the faint drizzle, less sensitive to the drops now that it was more mist-like, with fine droplets.

Keerie moved to help their guest, something she only rarely did with her son. He would be able to live on his own when she left, and she had spent the past ten-plus years of his life making sure of that.
She didn't follow the icejin outside, but did express gratitude for the help before she left. Then, she went to see how her son was doing.
