She was focused but unfocused at the same time. Enough to ignore the burn associated with prolonged staring, but also to keep her gaze on his.
His words, though, surprisingly jarred her focused non-focus, causing her to lose it after a few tense moments...and blink!
And then she frowned at herself; how had she got thrown off? How had she been intimidated? ...wait, was it intimidation?! No! And a little of the frown was at him.
"Eighty seven times? You're joking. Do you practice on any animal you see?"
(Rolled a 4!)

He laughed after she lost and commented. "Yeah, basically. That's what i did just now, right?" That's right, he was being snarky and calling her an animal. "Admittedly a beautiful one."His eyes widened. SHIT! He said that out loud!? "Er, I mean your colors are different. Unusual. That's all." Woaaaahhh good thing it was dark. He was blushing like crazy. He would reach down and grab a berry, popping it in his mouth.
Good. Keep his mouth shut.

He went from insult - which brought her back up once more - to flattery - which both confused and floored her - and then he tried to wave it away.
She felt disgruntled and bewildered.
"Yeah. Okay. You're more than a little infuriating and confounding, even if you mean well."
Her tail tip writhed a little.

He would think for a moment, looking up at the cave before leaning forward with a wince.
"Here, we have animals called cats, and animals called dogs. They hate each other, for the most part. There are a few isolated cases where they get along but for the most part they always end up fighting. A few years ago, someone published why that was- it was mannerisms. Cats had certain things they did, signals they sent when they were mad. Dogs had those same signals, but for them they meant good things. So the dog would always try to play, thinking that's what the cat wanted, and the cat always got scared because it thought the dog was attacking."
He leaned back.
"Perhaps that's you and me. And on a broader scale, our people. What we see to mean playfulness, you see as open threat. What we see as open threat, you mean it as a gesture of respect. Signals get crossed, and it leads to infuriation and confusion for our peoples, and us."
He shrugged.
"Something we'll have to work on, if we intend to be friends. Which I do, to make that clear."

"I wouldn't say I'm afraid of you." She stated, her tail flickering again. "But, what you say makes reasonable sense."
She was silent, digesting the "friends" part. That would be difficult, she could see. But, who knew what would happen along the way.

He scratched his head.
"That's not what I meant- I just meant signals get cross due to culture and body language. That's all."
He noticed she hadn't responded to the friends bit. He smiled to himself once more. She was indeed made of ice. He shouldered his ice pick, intent to continue chipping away.

She nodded. She had gotten that, but, she didn't want him to think she was afraid of him.
"So. You're journeying home soon, today?" She tilted her head. "After all, those thugs from earlier...I would have thought you'd want to make sure your mother is okay."

He chuckled.
"My mother is a noble on Vegeta. Nobody crosses her. I've heard baddies talking about steering clear of our land because their men keep disappearing. I'm not worried about her."
He let out a little breath. He...hoped she would be okay. Despite his claims, he was definitely worried but sloshing home in a storm was unwise and he didn't think he could fly.

She gave a slow hum and closed her eyes.
"I wasn't terribly worried about my parents, either."
She cracked an eye open, just in case he didn't pick up on the 'when', and then shut them again.
"No sense in flying, I suppose, for now. It smells...strange."

He chewed his lip and looked out the door.
"I...guess I can see what you mean. Would you mind coming along? I don't....think I can fly alone."
He would turn his eyes back to her expectantly.

"I can."
Aisuko wasn't sure what it had more to do with, but it was likely a combination of factors all rolled into one.
"...are we waiting for..." She inhaled softly, "This strange smell to pass..?"

Okara laughed.
"Ah...I keep forgetting you are new. No- that smell will be something you adore after this. C'mon, lets enjoy a storm."
He grunted, standing up, before he would wait for her to stand. He'd put an arm on her shoulder before bringing some energy around him to lift, in conjunction with her. He would head out the opening to be hit by a heavy but not rampant rain. The smell rocked his own senses, despite him being used to it. He closed his eyes, enjoying it, before he would speak quietly.
"My mom used to tell me stories about storms on Vegeta...I see her sometimes, standing out in the rain, looking up at the sky. Very...poetic."
He laughed a little bitterly, heading east.

At the mention of a storm, Aisuko's stomach turned over a little. Storms on her home planet tended to be vicious; and on a frozen wasteland, it was no wonder. She stood slowly and accepted his arm being draped over her shoulders and looped an arm around his back. She funnelled her own power into their flying to take them out; but caution made her slow quite sharply just before they emerged...
...and found herself pelted with something cool and wet. With a hiss, she retracted her arm from around him - probably dropping him - and shifted to look up!
"ACK! OWMYEYE—WAIT—WAT—"
Baring her teeth, she let out a louder, prolonged hiss with one eye cracked open, glancing up at the sky with her arm in the way as her aura flared!
It was wet, not unlike a shower or bath or other cleansing ritual, but this was cold!

He laughed, hovering- barely- next to her. He would put his arm around her hip and bring her back down into the cave. He would chuckle.
"Ah- right. Never seen rain. Rain is....like snow, on your planet. But it's what snow is before becoming snow. It's actually pleasant once you are used to it. And it can feel good. You just have to modify your aura to block it, and it shouldn't hurt you."
He thought for a moment.
"Also...you are going to see lightning. Bright flashes of light that lance across the sky. It won't hurt you unless you get close....but it will make a loud rumbling crack. It's scary, to some. But it's very beautiful. Sorry- I should have warned you."

She flinched with almost every drop that bombarded her senses, and instinct demanded she take care of the nuisance. Aisuko could feel her energy level rising—but stopped short as an arm wound around her hips and dragged her slick form back down and inside the entrance to the cave.
Inwardly annoyed, she rolled her shoulders and slicked the water from her face with a soft rumble in the back of her throat.
"Hmph..." She looked out at the silvery rain streaks and swept her tail from side to side, water droplets falling to the dirt below. "...it's fine."
With a moment to adjust, she used her aura to create a thin shield to protect herself from the pitter-patter of water droplets.
