"I still don't know why you moved me here."
Cain grumbles, careful to keep his voice a little lower than the usual aggression he was known for. Seated where he was, arms and legs crossed in front of him with his eyes closed, he could feel the gentle breeze pass by. His mother had brought him to a different planet, taking him away from Vegeta in order to keep a closer eye on him.
"You weren't learning anything there. And now I'm pretty sure you've got some bad habits."
Speaking of, she stands nearby, shaking her head as she looks down at her son.
"So you're going to meditate here until I tell you're done."
Cain grumbles again, but keeps his eyes closed.
Hours pass.
Every single time his attention starts to wander, he gets a... gentle, nudge to refocus. Sometimes not so gentle.
Well into the next day, Cain starts to grumble again, and his mother sighs.
"Fine. You're done for now."
Yet, when Cain stands up, he can feel he's already stronger than before.

"Now that you've gotten a little more disciplined, I'm going to start training you in the basics."
Those very words make Cain's eyes open wide in indignant fury, although he quickly shrinks back when his mother's frown deepens.
"I'm way beyond basics! Come on, there's no way-"
"In magic, Sugar. There's no way those dumbass Saiyans taught you anything about that."
Cain stops, frowning because he's well aware she's right. There was no point in arguing further, despite how much he wanted to, so instead he crosses his arms and sulks.
"Fine."
His mother ruffles his hair patronizingly, then smiles.
"Good boy. The first thing you have to do is be able to feel the magic inside you, and inside every single thing around you. If you can't identify it, then you can't use it. Have a seat and close your eyes, your meditation should help you with this."
Cain does so, albeit slightly hesitantly as this isn't the type of training he's used to.
"Now, reach out with your senses, and feel. Feel the difference between the soil and the grass. The trees and the air. You and me. Then... focus on what feels familiar between all of them. What binds them together."
It would take the better part of the day, but eventually, with his mother's guidance, Cain would start to feel it.
