Glace had one more visit from Hypor, who had one more thing to say. he was painted with wonderful colors. There was going to be a party.
“If your survive this and ever request any of my power it will cost you triple my normal rate.” He looked at her with a stoic expression.
She was shocked but gave stock to the words and eased into a grin. “Here I thought we had grown rather closely… very well, If I am not fit to live through the challenges I face then I will simply die accepting my own weakness.”
As if she had a choice such a steep price would certainly put her in the most incredible debt. His price was steep, I mean what is worth the cost of your life? But to triple it… well you might as well be in servitude for multiple lifetimes. Hypor didn’t just receive pay in Zenny and Gold, he took servitude as well.
“That’s a good Imp.” He looked at her satisfied with that answer and gave her a nod.
“Hypor…” she reached for him but thought not to grab him for she was still absolutely filthy. “What do you think of Froze taking what would have rightfully belonged to you?”
He looked at her a bit confused his narrow eyes searched for an answer. “Oh… you mean to say Froze let you in on our little secret?”
He rolled his gaze. “Call it what you will… but I don’t want it. All this… he can have. I’m not a pawn in their game after this settles. I got this power for me… I’ll use it for me from now on.”
Then he continued onto a topic that seemed to weigh on his mind. In dealing with Froze and their little pact he had something to say to his little half blood.
“We moved up the date because of you, we know of the situation and have been aware of what plans involve you, and you set off a chain of events that if we don’t act now the Viscount will come down on our bloodlines like a curse. His guard will be up and our only opportunity will be missed. Froze can kill the man… but after father is finished with you then there will be hell to pay on the young broods and our mothers. It will be total control which Froze might not be able to prevent. Subzro… that puppet roach… will reveal his plans and you were a prototype test subject.” He pointed to his throat to signal what Glacé had gone through previously.
This was very uncharacteristic for Hypor. He was showing a level of Frustration that she had not seen of him but once or twice in her life. “What I’m saying is… you caused all of what will transpire tonight. if anything unaccounted for ruins it then you’ll be the one to blame.”
Glace was silent at first but then she just sputtered a chuckle that was very not graceful. A hand went to her mouth and chin to prevent spraying spit. Hyper stepped to the side and back to gain distance from the filth. His nose scrunched in disgust.
“Good.” She smiled wide and vile. “Then it was all worth it. I shook the foundation of this house and made him realize how weak he was… I made him realize he has no control. And you all… I can’t be more proud.”
The look on his face was trying to make sense of what she was hinting at. “You couldn’t have possibly planned all this out.”
“Oh… I didn’t not past the incident with the ship and the beasts. My actions caused so much more of a result than I ever imagined. This chaos and the fall of the Viscount will be more than I ever dreamed. To see you worthy few finally getting to know who are trying the same as I. That it is just that easy to act on it… it’s everything I wanted and more.” Her smile softened and she was relieved.
Letting her words sink in his stoic face broke and his fury twitched through. “How dare you even play with our lives in such a way!”
“It would have been your own weakness that endangered you! If me wasting away in a cell pitching an absolute hissy fit and getting flogged by every single one of you was all it took… then we were all doomed.” For the first time she tasted victory and this was the most proud she had ever been.
“But… it’s not over… we are nearing the end of this show. We are alive. And I have you to Thank above all else… so after tonight take your own path. I know I’ll be starting my own conquest with my own arrangements.” Her voice turned so soft it was loving. “I do hope to keep in touch… Brother.”
Yes she was proud. Not only of herself but of some of the blood who would have even tried to plan behind Frore’s back. She could call them Brothers and Sisters.
Hypor further let her words sink in and a hand covered his mouth. Could he be angry or realize what this truly meant, feeling the weight of her officially claiming a member of her family. He watched her expression, he was terrified and shocked. She was dead serious even showing a loving prideful smile. She made him feel like he should have a victory here but he wasn’t proud of it.

She was pulled from her cell afterwards and taken to her room where it was absolutely ransacked!
The horror on her expression seeing everything out of order and trashed. Paint and ink and stain coated all her fabrics. All her clothes and jewelry was ripped and smashed, priceless designs and creations absolutely in ruins beyond repair or replacement.
Most of it didn’t mean anything but some more important things… like her paintings, were no where to be seen. She was pulled from doing any further investigation and into a bath where the beasts would scrub her clean and tend to her care. The Viscounts elite guard gave her on watch they were fairly strong even compared to most of his brood. Certainly not the older kind but they were likely twice hers.
This was the first time Glace would see a mirror in months. Oh and the mess she was… such a horrible and dehydrated state. One bath was not going to be enough to bring herself back to herself. Her sunken in features and dried skin. It simply ached for her to look at much less feel. Now she felt there was a public display she was going to be forced into.
She would be ushered elsewhere after. She knew where Frore’s Elite guard were taking her. There was a space below the ballrooms which would have a lot of inner workings that would include lifts and openings that can change the area into a stage or a pool or whatever number of things.
What she didn’t expect were the chains they placed on her suddenly.
Around her neck and her hands closed thick and heavy powerful chains. Strong enough to pull her to her knees. Her hands fell on the surface with a thud and her back felt the strain on her neck.
She groaned as she struggled against them.
There were voices announcing muffled by the floors above. She was going to understand very soon what was being said. She took a couple of calming moments in the quiet before the storm.
Hearing what happened to Shiv she would be unsure what plan the Viscount conjured for her. She didn’t have a weakness to family connections like Shiv.
She searched her mind what the man could possibly use against her and how to implement it. Her paintings? Even if he burned them or ruined them she can’t imagine that’s the worst he thought about doing to punish her.
The machines below started to hum and the time was at hand. The floor above split in the center as she started to rise from the space below. She would be seen from below as they looked down and sneered at her, eye level as they shamed her, and above As they judged her.
Worse… all around the room on displays were her paintings. Her life works littered all over the ballroom, even her most private works and her most adored projects.
“An artist is most famous after their Death!” The Viscount roared. “As you can see this one is still Alive… for now.”
There was some laughter at his expression.
“I like to think of myself as an artist as well.” A finger waved and the next thing Glace new she had something impact her face and explode half blinding her. She felt it viscously coat her skin and the fumes from it made it evident… it was paint. Red paint that mimics hues that held orange undertones. Another pelted her in the back and splattered fluidly over her shoulder, blue like the deep sea. “Let me see my vision realized.”
And from the crowd a barrage of flimsy balloons of paint came to slap her across her skin and coat her in messy meaningless colors. She would be drenched in the mess and the colors would fade into variations of grey.
A white hot impact hit her square in the back next.
She would tense her form and throw her head back but she bit her tongue to refuse to scream. The chain around her neck would threaten to control her body in the momentum of her coming off balanced but she fought against it.
Another white hot blast squared her in the face knocking off a massive amount of the paint she kept her head tilted to see what was going on when more paint was thrown another Ki blast hit her in the side of her ribs knocking her to one end she supported her self with the weighted cuffs on her hands and thrashed to see what was going on but it was such thick paint it didn’t want to go.
She was hit high on the chest with a blast, just below the thick weighted collar and it nearly threw her back if it wasn’t for her hands.
She would endure. She dug in to her stance and refused to move with Ki blasts or paint. It dropped off her and dug into every inch as she was almost being forced to drown in it.
Suddenly it stopped. She felt the Viscount approaching. She couldn’t see but she could hear his foot steps and his stride acting like he won.
“I call this work… Pitiful.” And there was laughter. She was painted like a sad melted clown in front of the masses. The cruel and cowardly masses. The fury that swelled in her very core was about to make her explode.
Then the room fell silent at the sound of the grand ball doors opening.
At this point she was sick and tired of doors opening and closing they should forever send a chill down her spine in anxiousness awaiting for more pain.
The waves of gossip that rose and fell like the howling of winds in a blustery blow. Changing direction in the swing of a chaotic storm.
It must be time.
Time for Junior aka Froze to make his stand. She tried to shake more paint off so she could see. She mustered the strength to lift one of her hands and use the side of her metal cuff to scrape off the paint from her face.
She saw an unfamiliar woman at the doors and behind her was Froze. The woman walked over to one of Glace’s paintings ignoring the world around her. The room parted in her wake for at her and Froze’s entry there was power that drew attention to their presence. The Jin approached specifically a large piece that was a realistic mountain landscape. Cold and breezy winds blew light dust of snow into ghostly whispers in the strokes of paint.
“Culder!” The Viscount roared her name. “Junior! What is the meaning of this?!”
The woman looked at Froze, completely ignoring the Viscount. Glace could not make out what this lady had said to the man she formerly understood was her eldest half-blood. She would note her other elder or more powerful siblings would be positioned in multiple points in the room even near by exits and windows. A horrible blizzard blew outside.
“Glace!” Froze called getting her attention. He gave her a look as if to signal that it was now or never.
“Answer me boy!” Viscount Frore nearly screamed and a power flare of Ki.
Froze would stare down the Viscount and flare his own Ki into realization to answer the Viscount.
“Your loyalties are fragile and your rule is fractured!” He started. “As we stand now my forces are letting the worlds you have come adjusted to… New Management.”
Snu was nearby and he bolted to the edge of the room shoving most in his way. He donned his scouter which looked like he was attempting communication. A few others looked to be doing something similar. Chatter rose as mixed messages and emotions would rise.
“You staged a coup? AGAINST ME?” The Viscount would transform into his power. The guests would retreat to the edge of the room giving the floor space to the fighters. Her paintings were moved by the ones guarding them.
Well one was knocked over and stepped on as a beast foot tore through the canvas. Her heart was stabbed watching it. The piece was more abstract and it would depict one of the wild creatures at the edge of the woods but the woods even were appearing like they were opened gates to a brighter plain. A better life, freedom.
She would stand as the two men began to power themselves ready for a fight. Some would watch her stand and see she would pull on her chains. With all her power and strength she felt the hate and rage on demonic level. She flared her power as the heavy weighted cuffs cracked and strained the floor.
In their transformed states they heard and saw Glace fight for her life against her restraints. The power she was exploding would lift and burn away most of the paint on her body. With a cry in rebellion she would finally feel the chains snap loose from the floor connected to her hands and she yanked forward snapping the base of the chain connected to her neck. The remaining hung like heavy weights around her neck and wrists but she was loose and free.
“I accept!” She yelled looking at Froze.
He smiled proudly, he laughed Viciously, and he looked at the Viscount murderously.

The fight that roared to life with the Frore and Froze. After Glace’s acceptance of his proposal it ignited the powers of rebellion and there was a hard watching audience. Those who were brave enough to stand and watch anyway. Some were leaving not wishing to get caught up in the blast ranges, a rogue blast occasionally flew into the masses of Ice-Jin. Various fights broke out on the floor. Certainly some are taking the chaos as seizing the opportunity of their own arise in order. Bannermen were some of the most viscous and desperate people. The family is absolutely bitting their nails waiting to see what is going to happen.
Glace can already see the plotting and questions hanging on the wives minds but all managed to stay away from the notion of intervening much less fretting over the possibility they will lose their husband.
She could see Hypor and Chi specifically speaking with their families getting caught up on what had caused all of this mess and the more it spread through the ballroom like a fire in a drought.
Culder, Froze’s mother, first wife of the Viscount, and formerly presumed dead; stared at Glace’s painting of the landscape she saw out of her window all of her life. The woman didn’t move otherwise. From what Glacé could see there was simply satisfaction. Glacé was being used as the weak link to this family’s defenses. The kink in the chain that would bring down the reign of Viscount Frore. Her son, Froze, was simply her axe. That is what all of this was. Which isn’t surprising considering who they were as a race but being a pawn in someone’s hands leaves a bad taste in Glacé’s mouth.
Glace measured the reaction of her own Blood; Brisk, Fract, and Icee were obviously out of the loop for the best results. When Fract and Icee seemed to have an issue with it there was a quick hush from Brisk who waited the outcome hiding her face behind a decorative fan. She whispered some amount of words to them all which caused both of the siblings to go into shock and anger. Icee full on would begin an argument which Glace could not make out. Still she knew her bearer well. The risen tension in her angular shoulders showed the stress in her neck. The narrowed eyes of her gaze actually were usually a tick which she would do to hide her fear. Wide eyes were more open to see the terror in one’s soul, but narrow ones did not show the same emotion. Her foot was tapping and her tail was curled around her tapped foot to try and still it and silence it. All this woman had worked for was falling apart and it was eating her alive. Her two other children felt the equivalent amount of pressure from this shaken foundation yet they don’t know how to compose themselves to see just how weak they looked. If this was their only way of gaining an easy life they were now feeling the desperation of having the rug removed swiftly from below their feet.
Borean would be one of the one to approach Glace who was still cuffed. Unlike her and unlike the other two which shared full blooded relation he seemed to have been outside of it all.
“Looks like we played the cards just right. Quite a few of us were planning this and truly you almost ruined it.” He said but smiled. “Unlike you I am still kind of attached to some of us… we are not all in this for ourselves.”
Glace was still scraping the paint off her face. She glared at him; like Hypor and most others. Swipes of paint were decorated across their bare skin this was the theme. They were dressed for her humiliation it was expected of them of course but it still mocked her. “Are you making a point?”
He presented a Key to the lock on her neck. “I hope I can earn your respect… enough to call me Brother.” And it slid off her shoulders with a loud click and thumped heavily on the staged floor.
“That might happen… when you can act and think for yourself. Looking to me to earn my approval is how you get lost in my shadow. How embarrassing for an elder blooded bannerman to look to someone like me for validation.” She presented her hands to him ready to get out of those too. And the echoing thud they made finally got the Viscounts attention.
That fury he would produce broke his concentration on Froze and there was a fist that went into the Viscounts head. It didn’t take much for his eyes to pop out and blood to hose from each hole on his face. That wouldn’t be enough to kill a Jin but the bubble of his skin and the light and power that peeked through the cracks forming in his skull as a Ki blast would burn hot and fast warping the head unrecognizable until it splattered to bits… did.
That wasn’t quite enough however. In the off chance he could recover there was Froze who would send a concentrated beam of Ki which took a little while to charge where he had stood. There was a deep inhale and a loud exhale at the release of that power most would cover their eyes and back up even further. Everything in the path of this blast would turn to ash and dust.
The power he held and the ferocity of his will was found by the room. Even Glace would freeze at understanding every point of effort was not wasted and he carefully considered the entire room making the damage minimal. Sure a hole in the floor on seven levels of castle was nothing compared to the possibility of wiping out the entire ballroom.
Froze would collect himself and make an announcement. “Bear witness to the dethroned Viscount Frore Freez. I am Froze Behemoth, you all know me as Junior but this name is no more. For my mother, Culder did not bare me with the Viscount.”
He looked at Glace. “Fear not Freez your daughter has accepted my proposal. I will still be in a way an eldest brother to all who wish to view me as such. You may keep your homes, but the Viscount’s planets are now mine, see me for any arrangement which you deem necessary going forward.”
His hand extends to her as she was stepping off the raised floor. “Do you have anything to add… fiancé?”
Glace looked at her blood and there was mixed feelings. She was covered in paint and she had gone through hell for half a year.
Her eyes rested on Breez who was unrecognizable at first glance. He was starved and thin as a rail. A shadow of himself as his gaze looked distant. She was unsure if he knew who he was anymore. The consequences of his enhancement really were heavy. His stain on the blood line would cost them dearly. Which gave her an idea.
“Let it be noted… I will get mine. All the pain, suffering, and weakness… I will balance the scales.” She grumbled taking a direct quote from Breez. Her half blood relation might be suffering from his own actions but that had nothing to to with her and like the rest of them she was posed with a mindset to return to them the Consequences of crossing her.
Froze seemed pleased with her answer and smiled deviously. “Enjoy the party! Mind your step.”

Glace did not stay for the party. She went to her room and would take a proper bath. She would not leave the warm water with all of her soaps and scented oils for hours making sure they soaked her to the bone. By the time she was out her bed was freshly made and she would have loved to have slid under the thick lush blankets and be consumed by luxury for once in half a year but she was seeing an unexpected guest suddenly. At the balcony window she was looking at a woman.
Culder, She almost thought she was seeing Ghosts, which might have been what the Former Viscount thought too. Except the ex wife was very much alive and she held the most regal air to herself. It demanded Glace’s respect unlike the Viscount, her Bearer, or even her elder bloods it was damn near close to how the empress carried her energy. This was the commanding presence of a true Ice-jin.
Her and Glace locked eyes.
“Hello.” She smiled kindly, a genuine kind smile. Glacé wouldn’t think this woman was kind however, she smiled kindly because Glace was not a threat. Both women knew it so there was simply no hostility. “I thought I would pay a visit and introduce myself to my soon to be Daughter-in-law. Culder Behemoth, former Baron, now acting Advisor for the New Viscount.”
“Glace Freez, Aspiring Bannerman, Aspiring Artist.” Glace showed her respect to the former Baron. She felt her power however, this woman had the power of a Duke or a Marquess in comparison. She was not to be trifled with.
She chuckled. “Yes your works are lovely. I recognized that one in particular that you painted from this window, this used to be my room. I would look upon them and dream of climbing them to great things. And I did… I wonder if you will as well?”
“I sure don’t plan on being my bearer and settle for just a marriage.” She scrunched her nose.
“So you are truly an “Aspiring Bannerman” if I’m understanding correctly?” She pried obviously looking for a specific answer.
Glace looked out the window at the mountains she was familiar with. “I’m taking my own conquest. I will strive to surpass and to rival in strength and control with my betters. This includes the elders of this family, Froze… maybe even you. I feel your magnitude. I envy and crave that for myself.”
The mother chuckled. “That was the correct answer. I hoped that you would say that. I expect great things… now rest. We will plan the wedding later.”
“Culder…” Glace paused the Jin. “If you want that painting, take it. Consider it a gift from your future daughter in law, if you don’t then perhaps they’ll be burned or trashed later… it matters not to me. I realized both my penchant for chaos and my connection to them were a flaw that has delayed me from moving forward. Thank you for giving me a moment of your time, as far as the wedding goes, I’ll be selecting the venue, you’ll hear from me when I do.”
She would leave with an approving smile and would have no argument. Glace at this point would have no strength for much else. After so long she would sleep without dreading the time or the pain.

“Glace…” A soft male voice stirred her from the deepest slumber of her life. A broad hand pulled back her covers only to be met with blue claws that gripped the wrist and pulled herself upright ready to swipe at the face with her other hand.
“F-Froze…” she rasped halting her strike. As if the power behind her blow would have done anything. She let go of him and slip back into her plush bed those hands would wipe her face the feeling that would be felt down into her bones. “I’d like to hopefully help you understand that a knock or two on my door would be preferable given what I’ve been through.”
“I did knock… you were sleeping like the dead for two days. I figured it at least know if you were alive.” He grinned.
“Gods…” she groaned again and turned over. “I could sleep another year, allow me to hibernate in my silks, feathers, and furs.”
“Hypor said something similar, keeping you healed took much from him.” He would lay in her bed sinking it a great deal with his dense weight. “However this feeling is due to your strength leaving you… just need to move around and refuel yourself, my dear.”
She felt her body slide against his from the sudden incline. He took advantage of this and pulled her under as he rolled over to the center of the bed.
Glace paused and placed the side of her forearm against his chest in a defensive posture to push the oversized Newley appointed Viscount away from her face. “What do you think you are doing?” Her tone was venom and her expression was unamused and rather alert.
“We are to be married are we not?” He raised a brow a false smile kept his lips curled at the corners.
“Exactly… “To be”… not yet are.” She slid from under him and went to the edge of her bed to drape her shoulders in a cozy floor length robe. “I still have my reservations about giving you my trust in such close quarters. Or even that you are or are not related to me by blood.”
“What can I do to ease those reservations?” Froze got a little more comfortable on her bed.
“A bit of proof would be nice… Obviously you know more about me than I do you, you’ve been watching me a while and plotting something in the time you’ve dedicated to that particular game.” She would sit at her vanity and begin a routine. Her beauty elixirs were restocked and the shelves were cleaned even so soon after this room was trashed. Her jewelry was missing, sadly trashed probably. The room filled with scents of florals.
“I don’t know who you are.” She would finally say. “For all I know you are just another fire I’ve jumped into. I owe you mercy and a marriage… but anything else I feel it’s fair you earn. That includes my respect and my body.”
“Even as of now I can not rightfully give you my Loyalty until I’ve held up my end of a previous arrangement. An arrangement which involves an even higher respectable Jin than you can possibly expect.” She bragged a little finally.
“Alright.” He pondered for a moment. “Have you ever been off this planet? I mean to take a leave.”
“Why yes a time or two to visit a spa or show on a planet the Former Viscount conquered.” Glace looked at him as she polished herself.
“How about one of the ones I’ve conquered?” He teased.
She narrowed her eyes. “Taking me to your dominions is not quite what I had in mind to get my trust.”
“You’re already in my dominion.” He pointedly said with a cocky grin.
She flinched and turned away feeling silly. Suppose it hasn’t sunk in yet that since the Viscount was now dead she had no real security or claim to this place except for what Froze allowed as acting new Viscount.
“Glace you have been through a lot… wouldn’t it be better, to do something that makes it feel far away… even if only for a moment? Recover your health and strength.” He stood and came into her view of the mirror. “You should come out of this feeling like you had a victory.”
She would take a moment and think about his words.
“…Alright” she finally agreed and she would stand to turn to him the bathrobe drops off her shoulders and floats elegantly to the floor. “But… my standards are higher than they ever have been. My goals are going to be conquered no matter what I have to pay.”
A vibrant blue hand was placed on his chest it would push him back and he backed up willingly. “And I will catch up to you, if you do not keep up, then I will surpass you; I will challenge you in every way.”
“Disappointment will not be tolerated. I’ll kill you, if you do not meet my demands.” She held a vicious gaze as he touched the edge of the bed and sat down. They were nearly eye level with him being maybe half an inch taller.
She backed away and lifted her hand from him. She’d grab a cloak that hung on a hook near the door and commanded a ship be made ready. She heard a growing laugh that was from deep in the belly of Froze. But she cared not to humor him a moment longer.
