A-Maiz-ing Training Thread! Two puns in one!

The first thing Maiz resigns himself to do on his trip is figure out how to keep training while being stuck in a ball for so long.
It wasn't as if he could get up and throw punches, so the best he has is mental imagery. In order to practice, he sits outside his house cross-legged, arms folded with his eyes closed, concentrating. It takes a little doing, but eventually he manages to form a mental image of himself. Then, of an opponent. Maybe another Saiyan.
Then, he starts imagining the fight itself. Fists and kicks fly through towards each other, as they fly up into the air, sometimes landing to continue the battle, and he mentally reviews what he imagines he would do, and then what he should do for each moment of the fight against the smaller, cat-like Saiyan girl.
He could probably win if he did that. She'd smoke right through his defense with that move. Her lips would feel so good against his while-

For most people, not turning into a giant ape was normal.
For Maiz, however, losing that massive frame and becoming just a slightly larger, furry-monkey-man was the weirdest thing he had experienced in a long time. As a result, he's taken to transforming when he was alone, using his Moon Ball technique to do so in isolated areas, then just kind of... look at himself.
Yep.
Hairy.
At least his armor still fit, since it was usually able to expand with him into the Oozaru form before. But even his regular hair looked longer from what he could tell. If he wanted the usual hairstyle, he'd need to redo his entire ponytail.
So much work.
Maiz sighs, then cracks his knuckles. The best thing he could do at this point was see how this form measured up to his old Oozaru form. He powers up, then shoots into the air, punching and kicking an imaginary enemy with both speed and power far beyond what he was normally capable of. Even as a giant ape, his strength was much higher, and the speed considering he was much smaller was far more exceptional.
...this was going to take some getting used to.

Maiz finds a Hidden Rage dwelling in the form. The more he uses it or the longer he maintains it he seems to become more angry or aggressive.

Alright. Time to make this form not so hard to deal with.
Maiz stands in his room in the ship, then goes to power up. As long as he keeps the moon in his room, no one else should transform and ruin the ship.
Maiz tosses the ball in the air lightly, having it hang in the air near the roof while he transforms, making sure to keep the door shut.
Then, after growing, he sits on the floor and waits.
Minutes pass. He can feel himself growing more and more angry over the inactivity, before he catches himself. This was that very problem he was having before, and he wills himself to try and calm down. For a bit, it seems to work, but the rage starts to rise again, and he can't seem to hold it back.
He finally throws a blast at the ball, turning it off and reverting.
"Phew. This one's rough."

Today's training was more about focus than anything else. While coming up with different moves and working on improving his new strange Oozaru form were all worthwhile, sometimes the best thing to focus on was improving on what he already knew.
Maiz stands in a field, eyes closed, clad only in the muscle shirt and tights that go underneath his armor as he focuses his senses. He could feel the energy that flowed through all living things, but something nagged at him from the beginning. If he could stuff his energy down, then clearly others could do the same.
He could walk right into a fight that he had no chance in without even noticing.
While the idea of fighting someone that strong was definitely appealing, he still wanted to have at least something of a warning first. As such, he focused on how his power felt different when concealing it, trying to see if there was anything he could work from when sensing others.
Hours pass, far more than his usual patience would allow, but this felt important.
Finally, he felt it. By pushing his energy down, it was still there, just concealed by something else. It was throwing off his reading, and so, he usually ignored it. But now that he felt it, he knew what to look for.

Learning True Sense - Able to sense that someone is suppressing their Power Level. (Must learn energy sense first)

Maiz sits outside the ship, just staring at his hand.
A lot of the time, fighting simply came down to blasting an opponent. But what about those cases where an explosion was too loud, or wouldn't exactly work in terms to defending someone else? Maybe his techniques were a little too one-dimensional.
He channels his Ki into his hand, staring at the blue energy. It was pretty easy to control, he'd done it his whole life after all. But doing it outside of simply powering up or throwing beams around was something new. What else could he do?
Frowning, he looks around a little, before hearing the soft tapping sound of a bird nearby. He hadn't seen the like before, as he'd never been to Earth, but the action was something tha-
"That's it."
Maiz springs to his feet, then concentrates. The energy in his hand soon flows around it, and after some struggle with the shape, he manages to make it create a long blue blade, one that coats his hand from the wrist upwards. He swipes it around a bit, then laughs.
"So cool. Why didn't I think of this before?"
---------------
Learning (+20%) Carbon Cutter: Maiz forms a bright blue blade of Ki energy around his hand. This can be used like a melee weapon, both for cutting/stabbing and defending.

That was it. That was what he needed to do.
The breakthrough had come when Maiz had sat around considering the False Super Saiyan form Ilago had shown him, and how the man had looked absolutely furious when first transforming. Training and power had been one thing, and while Maiz had tried to be angry before about what had happened with the Tuffles, it wasn't enough to push him past that limit.
But his new strange Oozaru form didn't have that problem. In fact, it was the opposite, as he had a hard time staying calm while transformed. Maybe there was something to that.
With a breath, he slowly shifts his footing to be a bit wider, clenching his hands into fists as he begins to power up, his blue aura flaring to life around him.
He opens himself up to the growing anger he usually feels while transformed, something that he tries to keep a limit on usually. It was easier to put himself in that mindset now that he'd experienced it before.
Maiz lets his mind wander a little, thinking of the girl who had sacrificed herself to save him, Onyan, and probably a good chunk of Vegeta itself. The fact she'd been forced to do so as an infant, because of those Tuffles in the strange suits, who didn't care about anything as long as they killed his people.
His people. The same ones who were killing themselves in civil wars and power grabs, instead of working together.
Maiz's aura flashes orange as he closes his eyes, teeth grinding together as he keeps pushing himself.
His stupid people, who would probably try to kill Onyan just because she had that green power, just to keep things how they were.
His hair lifts upwards.
The only way he could stop this was if he was strong enough to make a difference. And the first step to being that strong was to reach this Kami-damned transformation!
Shouting into the air above, Maiz stretches as far as he can, letting his orange-aura explode in fury! His eyes open, showing nothing but white, and he hunches over for a second, practically growling.
Then slowly lifts his head upwards.
"Fucking. Finally."
--------------------
Learning transformation: False Super Saiyan Requirements: 7,500 (7,000 for Low Class) Boost: +33% Power Level (35% for Noble Class) A slightly yellow and red aura and spiked hair along with no visible pupils make this form seem like the legendary transformation of the Super Saiyan! (Can not use this transformation to obtain Super Saiyan. Is not counted among the bonuses to stack along the Super Saiyan transformation branch.)

Okay. So that solved one problem. Anger was a key factor in this transformation.
However, he wasn't used to fighting angry. Maiz was more of a coolheaded fighter, something that his fellow Saiyans tended to make fun of him for. Now he needed to tap into that anger, but still control it.
Weird.
Maiz struggles with his anger again, before bursting into False Super Saiyan, holding the charge. The longer he holds the transformation, the easier it will become to maintain it. Maybe even get used to it completely.
As it stands at the moment, however, Maiz has to concentrate on staying angry enough to stay transformed, and it takes a good deal of willpower to keep from reverting.
He'll spend the rest of the day transforming, holding it, then reverting when he has to.

!!!!!!!!!!
"Space Whip? Sun Smack?"
The hardest part of this training is the name.
Maiz sits on the floor, his new energy whip attack fully formed in his hand. It was sturdy and strong, as he'd spent all night working on it after embarrassing himself coming up with the idea while Onyan had been present, and overall, he was pretty proud of it.
But you can't use a technique without naming it. That just wasn't done.
"Solar...slap...?"
Maiz grimaces. That was awful.
He stands up, spinning the whip around a little. It was a prototype, in a way, since he'd never thought of a combination attack before. Maybe... something like that?
Maiz whips it forward, causing the energy to encircle a nearby tree, before he tugs to make it release.
"Proto-Chain.... alright. I can work with that."
-------------
Learning Ability: (10%-20%) Proto-Chain: Maiz uses his energy to form a whip-like weapon. Attacks with this whip deal +10% PL in damage. The whip itself has a durability of Maiz's PL +20% in order to break it.

Okay. So that didn't go completely as planned.
While using the anger from his Oozaru form had made it easy to become False Super Saiyan, using the two in combination wasn't quite what Maiz had been prepared for. The two forms had worked almost like a feedback loop and he'd gotten real mad, real fast.
That was a problem.
He'd gotten better with the False Super Saiyan form, so the main issue was likely the Oozaru one. If he wanted to combine them, he needed to work on that one for sure first.
Once again, Maiz would spend the day throwing a moon blast into the air, transforming, and holding it until he was getting too angry to deal with it before blowing the moon out of the sky. By the tenth time, he was exhausted, but it felt like he was finally making progress.
The next real test would be mixing the transformations again.

Maiz can now control and point the anger of his Oozaru transformation

This is it. This is the day. He can feel it.
With a fresh moon-ball hanging in the air, Maiz stands on the ground beneath it already in his semi-mastered Oozaru form, closing his eyes. He can feel the anger underneath, but it's not overwhelming anymore. It's just... like a part of him, something he can tap into if he wants to, but it doesn't necessarily control him anymore.
Gritting his teeth, Maiz clenches his fists and powers up, tapping into just enough anger to push him into his transformation, an orange aura flaring to life around him. The initial rush of energy makes him furious, but he quickly pushes it back down, straining against the anger somewhat.
Then, it passes, and he feels fully in control. Maiz stands up fully, calm, relaxed.
"...good. This is a good start for the big step."
While he doesn't know how to become a true Super Saiyan yet, mixing transformations was something he wanted a good handle on ahead of time.

The more he thought about it, the more Maiz realized he was severely handicapping himself. He would fight and fight, always going on the offense, trying to figure out ways to damage the opponent.
But what about protecting himself? He didn't have a single technique to do that. And that was somewhat important, considering he needed to be alive in order to keep fighting. Getting blasted through the chest had kind of opened his eyes in that regard.
Maiz sits on a rock, considering it. Sure, his aura could push away attacks if he powered up hard enough, but he doubted it'd be able to block an attack from anyone near his own power. He needed something stronger. The simplest concept was to coat himself in energy somehow, like when powering up or flying, but that felt... wasteful. Inefficient. And frankly, not strong enough.
The Saiyan stands up and powers up, pushing his energy around him. Then, he starts pulling that energy back into himself, pulling his aura tighter and tighter, until it becomes a solid energy barrier around his body, nearly skintight.
He smacks his knuckles against his chest, not even feeling it, and grins.
----------------------
Learning Ability: Photosphere Barrier: Maiz forms a skintight energy shield around his body, preventing physical contact as long as it is present from outside sources. This shield is impermeable, allowing for very brief trips underwater or in space where oxygen isn't present. The Barrier has a strength of Maiz's power level +20%.

Self-reflection was great for finding your own weaknesses, as long as you weren't biased. Luckily for Maiz, he had never let his pride get in the way of finding new ways to get stronger, and as such, he had taken this time to go over some of his latest fights to find areas he could improve on.
One of the ones that had stuck out the most was his battle with that green guy with the fruit, who had shrugged off most of his Ki blasts fairly easily. Like all Saiyans, Maiz was fond of using Ki blasts and energy techniques, they felt pretty satisfying to pull off. But he'd never thought that there could be an opponent who was strong against those attacks.
He needs to diversify.
Channeling Ki was easy. Maybe the simplest way was to simply channel it through his body to hit harder?
There had to be more he could do with it...
Filling himself with Ki, Maiz would try and push himself to go faster, hit harder, until he's leaving afterimages behind and striking at the same place. A few seconds of this are enough before he stops and smiles.
"Oh. Oh, that's cool. I like that."
-------------
Learning Mirage Strike (+10%): Maiz moves fast enough to leave an afterimage behind, before striking his opponent from another angle with a Ki-infused blow!
