He chucked up his chin.
"Elturic Hemlock, Chief Warlord of the One Sky and Protector of Myria. Or....I was to be, before Namek. I am sure my King will see the destruction as a failure, and strip me of my titles and land."
He wouldn't blame him.
"And your lover- was he killed in the masacre that took your family?"

She place her chin in her hand and propped it up with her elbow on her leg. "Elturic..." she was just repeating it for pronunciation sake and was certain she nailed that one at least.
"Hm... Namek should not be a mark against you... Not even your King would have been able to do anything differently than what was already done." He then asked about a lover and she chuckled a bit. "No lovers... just Friends and Family... I am sure I mentioned before that Earth boys do not prefer a girl that can kick their ass."

"I have seen what this planet calls men, and I have dubbed them all women. What few beards there are, are soft and straight. Curtailed. Meant to look fashionable. My beard is a symbol of honor and status. You, my lioness friend, need not concern yourself with the opinions of the gazelle."
Again. Watching nature videos and reading books. Catch up on his new planets state.
"Tell me some things about you. Your past. Have you ever taken a life? If so, when and why?"
He set the plate to the side, watching her.

"Oh... you want that story..." She sat up straight and rubbed her palms down her pants finding where to start.
"I grew up in those mountains. The town was not terribly big or anything but it was nice and had enough of anything we ever needed. Father was a martial arts teacher, our dojo was called the Rising Sun. Mother she was pristine and she did not have to work but once in a while she would pick up a job here and there between accountant, secretary, and so on. I helped teach the younger students, but I also needed to work to pay off the equipment I broke." She was grinning but had felt this was a good time to switch gears.
"With our town being as secluded as it was in the mountains, someone decided to move in and use it as a passage for their goods in the next city. They stole, placed debts on people, and Father was not going to take it. I was told to stay out of it of course, actually one weekend they sent me to Modryb's and I came back to my parents being dead. No one would talk to me about it, people avoided me, I knew who did it... or at least who gave the order. So yes... In the middle of the night I left to their base, snuck in and I stabbed a man to death... I did not say good bye to Modryb I just left for the next city, I heard about the Tournament and felt like getting off world was the best idea. I ran away from what I did... I call myself a coward quite often."

El let out a low hum.
"Athvilajerar. It means War of the mind. This is not cowardice. Sometimes, events root themselves into our minds in such a way they spoil our true nature. Your first kill. Murderous. In cold blood. Taking their teeth, in repayment for them taking your eyes and heart. My people understand this well. You need not be ashamed of it- you need only understand yourself. If the murder was justified, and from where I sit it was- then you seek merely peace of soul from the act justice required. That is done through putting space between you and the site of the event, through helping others...even fighting in a tournament."
He cocked a brow.
"If instead you feel it unjust, then you must find a way to repay your debt to the universe. To balance the scales of your soul. How that need be done is not for me to say."
He would search her face.
"Does it still bother you? In dreams?"

She couldn't look him in the eyes which was often the case when talking about these things. "Here on Earth... justice can not be brought by any one person. We have a justice system that treats people equally, Murder is Murder weather justified or not. Some say an eye for and eye... others say an eye for an eye, makes the world blind. Despite the fact that I got my temper from my Father... we were very strict on keeping focus and clear headed. I feel like I failed him, and stained everything he taught me with that scum bags blood."
Maybe a bit different from Myria, she was human and taught human ways that were pretty pacifistic comparatively speaking. Never had she heard someone say what she did was well deserved and justified. Of course there was not anyone she could recall telling all of this before.

El scowled.
"Then your planet is full of fools. And had it been you that had died, no father would have done any less to rectify your murder than you did to face theirs. Including your own father. Justice is not always measurable on a scale of black and white. Laws are written and upheld, but judged on a case by case basis. There are those who have been executed for their crimes but deserved life. They were innocent. Others were set free, judged innocent, While their hands are staind with the blood of their guilt. That same law that tells us to see both equally is necessary for society and culture to maintain balance and peace but sometimes, it's failures cannot be left to stand."
He would lean forward a little, reaching out to gently take her chin to try and bring her eyes back to his gaze.
"Do not be ashamed for doing that which would have been unanswered. Do not self hate for refusing to let their cries go silently into the abyss. And do not hide your gaze from those who would point the finger- Passion, love, honor...they take just as much from us as they give. That is the way of things."
He'd sit back down and glance up at the sky.
"These conversations...they remind me of home."

He struck cords with his words. She secretly knew if it had been left undone they would have gotten away with it and she would of had to fool herself thinking one day "karma" will balance out the work for her. She hated thinking that would have been good enough for her at one point. But still... was she really the one who should have taken the karma upon herself. bearing the weight of her sin for it to come back an haunt her again?
"Well if your assumption before was right... then someone also feels the same way, hence they took out the very piece of Earth that I walked on." She once again tried to shove that scene from her eyes. "I'd like to see Myria one day..."

"You do not know why that happened. It sounds to me like someone with a lot more firepower than a group of thugs took out your home. It could have been something you did on Namek. It could have been any number of things that made that happen."
He would smirk.
"Perhaps, when all is said and done, I shall take you."

"True... too many questions are still left open. All I am squirming for are answers and I have no idea where to start. If they are so strong to wipe out all of that land... I'd think I could sense them... either they are out of my range or no longer on Earth." But that was just bringing them back to the begining and she would stop the subject.
"Well if you are talking Roman-ish culture. I mean I might not look to bad in those long and flowey toga-like dresses... I mean is that what Mythrosian woman wear?" She grinned. It was an official grin and she felt like a weight was lifted off her chest, so to day as long as the memories were pushed back she can be herself in these moments.

He would nod. " These are good points. I know the Alliance has stations on Earth- it's possible they were monitoring this attack. Scaling it, to see who might have done it. Got a picture or a lead. We can turn to them and see what information they could offer us." He straighten, grinning. " Oh no, you my friend do not belong in a Shor- A...dress. I'd give up my left arm to see you in one simply for the daydreams, but you definitely belong in one of these." He'd withdraw a notepad, on which he'd been drawing. Using colored pencils and the like, it was of a woman in armor, a sword in her hands pointed at the ground, blood on the blade. She'd find it looked suspiciously like herself, a mohawk and short stature being obvious points. On the ground behind the woman was a dead beast, El smiling like a kid in a candy shop. " I have this armor at home. It belonged to my good friend Anyaisha- she died in the war of the five rites. Her armor was repaired and reinforced. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I gave it to a friend. When we see Myria together, I'll let you wear it."

Rhona looked at the drawing and would widen her smile. "Ah, I do think I like this better, I would be honored to dress in her armor. I hope it will fit okay... I have these...um." Her cheeks pinked a bit embarrassed to point them out suddenly but her hands patted her hips before she had time to check herself. "... Anyway I find it hard to buy good fitting pants every now and again."
She took a closer look at the drawing again. You are actually decently good, I would not have thought something like this from you." She did notice it looked like her. Which she was not blind to El and his feelings of affection. However she was not sure how to react on her side of the bargain, if it came to those kinds of feelings she was absolutely... uncertain. As far as past relationships go they were not very emotional, she was just as much of a guy as the guys.

"I am quite aware of your....condition."
He chuckled. Butts.
"The leggings are easily slipped out to adjust to waist, hip and rear size. It will fit you like a glove by the time I am done."
It was his turn to blush!
"I-....it his nothing. Just something I do when planning missions or...displaying what enemy armor might look like and how to penetrate. It is nothing fancy."
He'd hastily move to tuck it away.

She was a bit confused that he called it a "condition"... but maybe that was apart of language. the word sounded like there was something wrong with it but would not take it that way for a second more however. "I guess as long as it is adjustable... I've never worn armor so..."
But then he jerked away the paper. "Oi, nothing wrong with a renaissance set of skills. Being a warrior but having a bit of poetic aspects would be rather sought after here, we read and write about it quite often in books about romance and adventure. Trust me... It is endearing." She chuckled, he has his soft spots after all.

El cleared his throat. He had yet to get used to these peoples ways. He searched her eyes as she called him endearing, glancing back down at the paper. He slowly brought it back over. " On....my planet, one does not indulge in such festivities. When I was young, my grandfather caught me drawing with chalk on the roof of my bed. He took leather straps to my hands until they bled, and started my tutelage in sword play that same day. Every time I dropped the sword, I got more lashings." He would offer her the book. It was full of drawings- of tiger-like monster beings, and warrior queens and various other creatures and monsters of his world. " Take it. A gift for you."
