"Maybe, you know him better than I do. Though I don't think he is really her type."
Being short and green and all of that. Plus loud. He was getting that he was pretty loud. Though he seemed nice enough. Even if he did wreck his suit. But he couldn't be mad at him. Bana had invited it, and he'd gotten some very valuable information out of the ordeal as well.
"Well Berri, we can't all have the maturity to go up to two people having a private conversation and poke our noses in uninvited. Especially if we believed it was a date, as you seemed to have called it."
It was her move now.

Rhona's hand went to her mouth again to hold back the smile she wore. This was actually quite hilarious, this is what real siblings do. She has memories of the elder brothers and sisters she came and went from. "You two seem very close, especially to know that much about each other."
Rhona was pretty short to so Bana's logic made sense even if it was just a joke. Keeping her smile she waved a hand. "Oi, lets not make this entirely confusing, I just happened upon your brother shriveling up from the heat one day aaand... volunteered a lot data I suppose... He is pretty devoted to his work per say. but thanks to him I developed a better logical understanding of where I stand. I have to say, it is heavy knowledge. Today was just another happen stance, small planet you know?"

The fact that Bana knew exactly who Rhona was talking about piqued Berri's interest, irritating. She rolled her eyes and scoffed, one corner of her lip twitching at being referred to in the third person when she was standing right there.
"Of course I knew you weren't actually on a date - it's you, after all." Like how Rhona was just standing there talking while her brother looked like he'd dropped his parfait while it was still fresh.
She looked at the human as she explained what was a happenstance meeting, raising a brow and cocking one hip to the side as her brother is praised. She nodded at the fair assessment. of course her brother was devoted, just as he was thorough. He was a Smoothie. The fact that Rhona gained some form of understanding from her time with him spoke well of them both. it seemed the other woman wasn't closed minded, which was a refreshing change.
She bit back a laugh when she heard the store, eyes bright. "He was rather pink. I'm glad you learned something from him."

"It is not my fault that the suns on this rock make it a hellish landscape. I don't not choose to be here."
He said defensively before shoving another spoonful of comforting cold deliciousness into his mouth. He didn't know what Berri was on about. He dated. Sure it wasn't all the time, because he had standards. And he didn't turn his head for every pair of breasts that thrust themselves at him for the good of the race. He understood that it was part of his patriotic duty, but that didn't mean he had to give up his standards to find a woman who was worth his time.
"And I do date. I went on three dates with Melony Stem like thirteen months ago."
So she could just shove off.

"Well. things got a bit radioactive, but it was a pretty fun day." Rhona grinned and placed her hands on her hips. "Are you here on similar official business like Bana?"
She so would not ask what she had already been blocked of that before by Bana so she was not thinking of prying into private matters that were above her. But still she was a curious thing and thought it would make for a pleasant continuation of the conversation.
She'd then crack a smile at Bana. "Happy one full year of the single life." It was kind of poking fun but she was not being mean to say the least. Partially the congrats was sincere.

She's so very proud of him. Just like she's proud of how her brother stalled with his desert. Not that she could say she was different in that category, but that was beside the point.
"Radioactive?" She blinked, turning her attention back to Rhona with a raised brow. there was definitely a story there, and apparently she expected the other woman to tell it, despite the sidelong glance she gave her brother, tring to imagine just what it was that had happened.
Then the conversation turned its focus to her, and she smiled. "Somewhat. I go where business is good." And if she learned things on the side, all the better.
"Don't encourage him." She scoffed and rolled her eyes as the pot called the kettle black.

"Nothing to be concerned about. A power core simply overloaded and exploded."
He wasn't terribly concerned about the ecosystem of this planet. It wasn't his, and he didn't have a connection to anyone here. As far as he was concerned this planet and all three of it's stars could rot.
He looked at Rhona and then back to Berri with a raised eyebrow.
"Why is she congratulating me on not settling for a subpar mate?"
He turned back to Rhona.
"Is that cause to celebrate on Earth then?"
How sad.

Rhona chuckled at Bana. "I am still making jokes." She shrugged. "Well sometimes a break up can be celebrated. Some people get hung up on a more emotional greedy form of relationship and getting out of it can be hard. So when it is over you regain your friends and talk about how horrible they were for you. Really petty and shallow..." She was quick to find the faults in her race. Not that she was not proud to admit she was human but that it was some humans that had no good bit to be prideful in.
"Honestly some are just happy and will fine any excuse to celebrate. We are a race that is very easily amused."

Berri's lips quirked for half a second at the mention of the core exploding. Clearly nothing. She could see how that might lead to future problems, but at the end of the day, it hadn't happened. She could heckle him later if she felt like it.
"It might be that you realized you were dissatisfied before another date?" She knew some humans had a harder time finding a mate than others. Perhaps Rhona was one of them.
Then Rhona tried to explain and all Berri could do was stare at her. There was so much about what she said that felt like it was knocking on a brick wall. She assumed it was some form of shared power or restoration of it, but even as the human described the feeling as being good, she used words that indicated it wasn't. It was good that she thought about it, Berri supposed, but that didn't stop the words from looping in a circle.
"How are your people able to function?"

Bana was content to just snicker and focus on his dessert. There was nothing he could add to make this more amusing than it had been as Rhona described her race as easily amused. It was cute, in a quaint way. But also not a positive trait that one should extol about their own people.
At least if one wanted to be taken seriously.

"Eh... I might be hard to love... I can't see why, I have about as much beauty and grace as the Saiyans I've met." She chuckled at her joke again giving her arm the good ole Rosie the Riveter Pose. Currently at this point in time she only has ever officially met Okara so that was all she had to go on. but seeing others like him walking about she knew they were a very combat influenced race and quite frankly rather cranky... seemingly all the time.
Placing her arms folded across her chest again she took a second to think about how to answer Berri's question. "Ah... We wake up everyday looking for ways to fill the minutes that tick by. We live pretty comfortably... some live selfishly, ambitiously, and so on. Either way we are just looking and every morning wakes us up to fulfill ourselves."

There is absolutely nothing in what Rhona has said that doesn't make Berri struggle not to have her brain implode.
"How do you even...?" She stopped and shook her head, snapping out of the daze of disbelief. Tere was a planet out there that still managed to survive when their people had no direction and seemed to celebrate the results of bad choices? Looking for ways to fill the day sounded horrible. Sure, interesting things could happen, but then what? What would they even do if it happened?
"Look, show yourself some respect." She ticked off one finger at the woman. "You are better than them." No one was as bad as a Saiyan. That was like comparing herself to a planet with three sons or a world without technology.
The data suggested humans were lost and lazy. She almost pitied Rhona. Surely she must be an odd one out?

Bana pushed what remained of the parfait away from him. The disgust on his face plain as day. His appetite soured by the topic of conversation. It was more than a little painful to see someone whom he believed to have a good core lack any sense of self respect or dignity. Not only was she seemingly not ashamed that her race apparently just drifted through their lives like motes of dust in a sunbeam, but that she would compare herself to the Saiyan race.
The thought alone made him want to wretch.
"For once I agree with Berri. You didn't win the tournament, but that doesn't mean you are an evolutionary dead end."
Yeah, she clearly wasn't the sharpest tool in the toolbox. And she wasn't his type at all as far as mates go. But he'd seen that she at least had some passion in what she did, even if she lacked direction. He supposed that was like saying she could tie her shoes when she still had problems with the toilet, but going off of what she had to say it was a very backward race. So he'd take what he could get.

Rhona realized her humor touched a nerve or something between these two. Thought she did not know much about the Truffle homeland or how it was overrun and taken by Saiyans. That left her a bit clue less as to what she said wrong.
Her grin grew weak and then weaker as she spoke. "Oi oi... Come on It was a joke. I have respect for myself... But I also realize my place in the universe. I try to keep some modesty for myself." She looked between the two of them.
"But as far as the stars are visible I am still no stronger than a bug to some one out there. I think I used to be like the both of you, Having all my pride and devotion to the Rising Sun Martial Arts Academy. I'd sooner punch some brats face in before they mentioned a cross word about it. One day it ceased to exist... Up in smoke. Now I am a Human of Earth. Frankly I did not get along with a lot of people after a while, I started seeing this backwards thinking that I'm telling you about, but when I got here I was amongst fighters and it ignited my pride and ambition again." She lifted her fingers and created small sparks between them, then dropped that hand again fizzling out the small surge of power. "So that is why going back to Earth feels like I am going back to square one where I am still looking for the next thing."
So yeah Berri would be right humans were all pretty lost but Rhona sure was not lazy. But she did not believe this was a dead end either she just was not sure where or when the next thing would start. Basically the Tournament was a quick fix and she was looking for something new to look forward to. Maybe that was the next tournament? Maybe there was something else she did not know yet. So she was basically on stand by until then.

The younger Smoothie smirked at her brother's comment as if to say, 'of course he agrees with me.'
“Strength and humility have nothing to do with it.” Berri snorted at the mention of humility and shook her head. “It's a statement of fact. Your people sound as if they need a lot of work, but they're not the dregs of the universe.” Unlike some. Still, the way Rhona described losing what she knew to be home rang true enough to her; she may not have seen the event that lead to her people suffering herself, but she saw the effects every day. She lived it, just as Bana did.
Perhaps that was why Rhona was as she was and felt like she was so different. Human evolution might finally be taking a step forward, and the canvas didn't even realize what she was. It also made her wonder what other humans were like, if they were as lost as Rhona was, or maybe even worse.
“Well, it speaks better of you that you are moving forward.” Berri shrugged, judging face still in place but less in tone. “There's plenty of information out there once you understand what you want – or need.” It sounded like she already had something of an idea of where she wanted to go, or at least not go. It seemed a fair amount of credit to give, and from the sounds of it, taking on the universe was probably not something humans were capable of. Perhaps taking things with baby steps was in order for them.
