He'd learned so much lately. Not just about combat and his how to become a better warrior. But about the various alien races and their capabilities. A common thing that he'd seen several times now was this ability to transform. Or unlock some hidden power within. Whether it was Wasabi growing in size or Okara's hair blazing into a brilliant gold color. It seemed they all had something to offer, some stage to advance to.
What was more was he felt it within himself. That anger that flooded through his system. Hatred coursing through his veins. When he used it he could feel himself shifting away from the reserved observer that he normally believed himself to be. He could feel his insecurities shattering away as a surefire confidence burst through all of his barriers. He could feel his body thrum with power whenever he used that ability. Amidst the raging torrent that threatened to sweep away what he was inside as the cost for the power. He knew it must be dangerous, a steep slope to climb.
And he wondered if the others had such challenges with their own levels of power. If any of them felt what he felt. The sweeping torrent of anger. Something deep within clawing at them, threatening to rip them apart and wear their body as a shell, all in exchange for the power lurking within their grasp.
No, he doubted that. He doubted anyone felt what he felt. He dared not ask for fear of looking foolish, or worse. Word getting back to the Elder and his right to act as a warrior on behalf of Namek stripped from him. He needed to learn to harness this power on his own, he couldn't count on anyone else. He couldn't trust them to be able to guide him.
It was for that reason that Limax found himself far away from the nearest village. Away from his peers and the tournament goers. He needed to try this when he wasn't fighting for his life. If he could not learn to harness and contain this power he had no doubt that it would destroy him. Letting out a furious roar as his Ki erupted with energy and power he felt the power chained within him struggling to get free. Screaming at him to undo the binds that held him back. Limax was eager to accommodate the feeling as his power grew to higher and higher heights.
He felt the fire roaring through his veins as his lips twisted in to a smirk. It was like he was finally able to stretch after being confined for so very long. The power humming through his body was immense, but calm. It blazed with the concentrated heat of a star, not with the ferocity of a raging inferno. Lifting a hand up he fired a Ki blast at one of the plateaus that dotted the wasteland, a powerful beam of purple energy destroying the side of it. The cause and effect of which would cause his smirk to widen idly as thoughts began to cross his mind. Absently trying to determine how much of that power would be needed to blow a hole through someone. Someone like Wasabi or Rhona. Someone like Okara or the Guardian. Perhaps the stranger who had pushed him to reach this in the first place?
Not that he would, and Limax was disgusted with himself the moment such things passed. Fleeting thoughts though they were. He was no killer, not unless it was in defense of himself or those that needed protection. As a Warrior of Namek he was the shield by which his home could protect itself. That was his duty. It was for that reason, and that reason alone that he sought out what power he could find. It was his duty to obtain it for the betterment and protection of all Namek.
He almost turned his back on the destruction his blast caused, ready to revert back to normal. But something stopped him. A small feeling, a sense deep within himself. He hadn't noticed it before because he had been focused on the fights he had been embroiled in. But now that he was alone he could feel it. There was something more here. Something stronger beneath the surface of this new power. And it was by his own volition, uninfluenced by anything at all that he quickly came to the conclusion that he must have it. That it was his responsibility to obtain it, he'd seen the power of these aliens. And the Guardian had told him that he saw Limax's actions would shape the future of Namek. This power must be it. The power to protect his people from the vicious aliens that populated the galaxy. Protect them and stand up to their overwhelming power. He'd lost before, but that just pushed him to continue moving forward.
And so Limax thrust himself beneath the surface of the power he had unlocked. His Ki and power flaring violently as he tried to swim through the poison that was streaking through his Ki. Heedlessly pushing himself toward it as he roared in fury. The anger coursing through his body turning searing hot, the ground under his feet cracking and shattering as raw power erupted from him. He felt himself growing stronger with each figurative step, the glowing power within almost within his reach before he hit the wall. Pounding furiously against the block his mind had set his voice howled louder to the heavens as his aura continued to flare blindingly.
But alas, no matter how hard he pounded, screamed, and tried to rip and tear through the block the power that he sensed continued to elude him. The power that was now rippling through his body seemed a poor consolation to what he knew lay further within him. Just sitting there waiting for him to grasp it in his clawed hand and master it. With that power he was sure there wouldn't be a threat to Namek that he could not stop. That he would put all of the Warriors who had spat upon them in his place.
With another roar of fury Limax spun away from the damaged plateau and began to walk away. He made it three steps before turning back toward it and blasting it with another Ki blast, finishing off the job of destruction before the power faded from him. His breathing heavy and a sense of lightheadedness dancing about as the poison slowly left his veins and he calmed down.
"Still not strong enough..."
He growled to himself, disappointed with his seeming lack of progress to match the others.
