Cale shot through the off-colored skies above Namek, massaging at the sore muscles along his arms and chest from his small bout with Sojun, the God of Law. There was some small part of him that recognized how insane it was to challenge a God to a fight, but between Cale's analytical nature, and his Saiyan heritage, he couldn't resist testing both Sojun, and the limits of his own power against someone who there was no fear of damaging.
For a brief, beautiful moment he'd been able to fully let go. No pressure to save a planet, or a loved one. No fear of imminent death. To let it all out for no other reason than to feel that power coursing through his veins, empowering his muscles. His heart pounding in his chest, fit to burst from his skin.
As Cale's power had grown over the years, he'd been careful to manage how he used it. When and where it was applied, focusing on control above all else. But the more he had, the better it felt to use it. He couldn't tell if it was a personal feeling or a result of his racial traits, but just thinking about the sensation of holding the power of a star in his palms gave Cale goosebumps. It was a rush like none other, and one he never got to simply enjoy when it was used solely for life and death situations.
Still, he had to wonder if Sojun's anti-everything barrier had really stopped anyone on Namek, or from several planets around, from sensing his energy. Sojun's would have been undetectable, but anyone with even a faint ki sense could have felt him in the next system over if even a crack in that forcefield had shown up. Cale hadn't even been in this timeline for a full day and already he'd taken two huge risks. He'd have to be more careful moving forwards, but now that he had what he hoped were two allies on his side it would make his job much easier.
The red haired Saiyan would give him a way to get in on Vegeta, perhaps speak with the ruling class, and with a God on his side, Cale wasn't too worried about Time Breakers at the moment, at least not the petty low class ones that Miira was likely to use if he truly was interfering here. And if something larger came, he would at least have some high power help so he wouldn't shoulder the burden entirely alone; this far distanced from the rest of the Time Patrol it wouldn't be hard for Miira to outmaneuver and outnumber him. There still wasn't a guarantee the Makaioshin was even here but so long as there was even a chance he'd have his guard up.
Unfortunately, with Miira there was always a chance.
With the city coming up ahead, Cale took care to drop his power level to a much more mundane output, and his speed slowed as a result, giving him a bit more time to think. The Saiyan scientist who'd tampered with his own genetics unwittingly. A human Guardian on Earth, and no Dragon Balls there. An entire galaxy on the brink of war, and Gods running around largely oblivious to all of it. Cale's timeline might have been at much greater risk, but this one was far more tumultuous. The stakes weren't as high, but there were many more gears turning. He was starting to see why Shin had wanted him to handle this mission alone: Krain just didn't have the mind to maneuver a tense political standstill like this, and Sammi would probably just rush in headlong and make things worse. In truth, this was out of Cale's depth as well, but he was going to have to learn as he went. Par for the course at this point.
The tournament grounds coming up shortly, however, were well within Cale's knowledge base. He swooped low as the large domed building came into view, giving a quick flip as he landed into a jog back into the building, hoping he hadn't missed the roll call on the preliminaries. It looked like he still had a bit of time, so Cale returned to his previous activity of watching for potential risk factors, and trying to learn about this new universe. So many strange races, so many strange abilities and powers.
With his own power hidden, Cale was just another sword-bearing Saiyan in the crowd.
