Pocus sat about the ship, alone in her corner as she observed the others as they went of their day to day.
Somehow it felt so difficult to speak to them. Voila and Harp somehow didn't make her feel quite as shy. She almost thought she was over this.
Alas...
She wished she could communicate without using words.
Maybe she could...project thoughts and feelings to others to express herself? That way she'd feel less shy about it.
As a crewmember worked on repairs, he seemed to look frustrated. Angry even. In an effort to cheer him up, Pocus would try to project feelings his way.
"Happy happy happyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappy...." she'd think, focusing hard on the man.
Nothing.
Clearly she was not projecting with all her heart.
"Happyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappy!!!!"
Her hands would ball into fists as she stared holes into the back of the man's head. He shuddered but...didn't seem happy.
Then...she needed to feel happiness not just think it!
"Happyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappy--!!" she keeps thinking, imagining giving him a big hug and cheering him up!
Suddenly, the man would pause in the midst of cusring to himself, scratching the back of his neck and kinda smiling with an amused huff. He'd continue to work away, looking less stressed.
Pocus would wiggle in her corner, proud of herself.

In space...there were times where traveling meant she no longer had her feet on the ground. In zero gravity, she often floated about, rolling here and there and she felt a strange sense of familiarity. A sense of joy even. She enjoyed the feeling so much.
Somehow, perhaps she'd forgotten how to do it. Deep down, however, she felt as though she knew how once upon a time.
With gravity on, Pocus tried to remember how to create that lightness. The floating happy feeling. She stretched upwards at first, but, this only made her reach heights. Close...but not the same. She also felt lighter stretching her form like this however her feet were still on the ground.
Next, she tried expanding out, her body stretching out like a balloon and allowing her to bounce around really easily! The air made her lighter, yes, but...she still wasn't remaining in the air. Eventually she always fell back to the ground before the next bounce.
Sitting on the floor, Pocus would sigh. Clearly it had little to do with her form. The power she knew she held must have been the key.
Closing her eyes, Pocus would channel her energy as she thought of happy floaty feelings. As she bounced in place from some level of glee, her energy was slowly but surely keeping her lifted up longer and longer. First it was like being the balloon, floating up then floating back down much more slowly than usual...but eventually Pocus would find she remained in the air.
Ahh. There it was. The happy, floaty feeling...she remembered.
