Standing in a line she would be mentally empty. It was weird compared to the busy noise in her head currently. But twenty years ago she remembered when she didn’t have to think for herself. She just waited for an order to be called.
She waits for someone to give her the next task. She doesn’t fully remember the ones in the line with her. She doesn’t remember those who were giving her the inspection unless the came into her direct view.
She knew much on that day. She was born with a full manual ingrained into her head like a secret ingredient which brought the whole world together. But unless she needed to access it she didn’t think. It was more like experience and instinct that she’d use it to give herself the access to what was considered common sense to her makers.
The next minutes hardly made sense. There were some various noises and situations which she had no reference for. Twenty years later she tries when something feels familiar.
Explosions and shouting. She was growing aware she had no one to tell her what to do. So she stood still that was all she knew. But as people ran past her she was rammed into she was knocked down.
She was lifted by another like her with the pinkish complexion and they had knowledge in their eyes. They had scars on their body they gripped her by the thin shoulders.
“RUN, follow us, don’t look back, and get on a ship! LEAVE! RUN!” He shoved her she stumbled but one foot in front of the other she made her first choice.
To run.
She saw other faces and she grabbed another who did the same as she. She echoes what the previous one had said. She knew what every word meant. But her echo was exactly the same as it had been said to her.
She wasn’t afraid she was just following orders. So many of the Makers knew where they were going but somehow or another we followed a different path.
We followed “us” voila made another choice. She had no hate towards her Makers but another of a different mold came up to her and pulled her.
“No!” It simply said and shoved her in a different direction.
She looked back and they were fast also heavily scarred. The armor they wore looked inconsistent compared to the recognizable local authority.
This one was fast and it was trying to find specifically their kind. The Makers didn’t seem to even notice it. Well they did… but they didn’t care.
She made another choice.
She would put her faith in them. None of the Makers would give her the time of day. She tried to do what the scarred one did and she was met with a bag in the face. The Maker looked terrified. The screeched her away and she fumbled to her backside.
The one from before lifted her.
“Go!” It urged as it effortlessly lifted her again. “Listen… get on the ship at the end of this Dock. I’m not a maker but if you want to live then follow the pier.”
“… want to live…” she repeated. She hadn’t heard those words in particular in that order. To want and to be Alive. She proceeded to consider her options. She had no concept of life or death. She knew what they were by definition but was not told how to feel about them. She proceeded to read those definitions and she felt Death was her no longer Living and she just became Alive so maybe she needed to live. Because there has to be more to all this… right?”
“I get to the ship… to live.” She sorted out.
It nodded thinking that Voila understood. The relief in its eyes made her feel something. She made the right choice.
“Let’s go… we are the last, it will leave without us if we don’t hurry.” he said to her and began to pull her.
She did everything to keep her balance. Her big eyes saw so much going on but after reaching the Pier she heard a lot more quiet she’d get in the shop and the vessel made its own noises.
She was let go of and that Majin would converge on the others older than she. Armored more than she.
She would find a seat and sit down. We all Majin’s looked at each other the ship would take off and we’d leave.
There was no turning back.
Voila present day would wake from her scheduled sleep session with the ringing of her Alarms. She stretched and breathed checking her corse and everything looked on track. She checked her fuel resources. Everything was fine. She preceded as planned.

To continue down memory lane. The next years to come she would get familiar with even more of her kind. It to mention there was learning.
Voila had yet to find herself interested in cooking yet so she was her standard mold size. Which was not short but it was thin and toned. She had a fair curve between her top and her bottom some more experienced Majin tried to guess her original purpose with some varying degree of interest. It wasn’t like she was given an instruction manual. It was likely she was made to suit whoever she was sold to.
Her eyes were seen as a kind of odd feature she was told she looked like sea faring creatures. When the kitchen talented showed her what her likeness was kin to she took further interest in learning of the trade.
She could see more of them as the ship stopped for some seasons and made port. They earned a fair bit of cash flow with their talents and they bought what they could to keep the ship and all who were on it going. Eventually they knew the ride was not going to last. But they stayed safe for twenty years. By the end of that she had made friends of all shapes and molds for Majin makes.
She had a deep ache in her chest she felt it a little here and there but she realized she was feeling like she missed them. Voila was a very social majin. She didn’t say lengthy sentences but she enjoyed others company. She could watch a busy ship all day.
Even on the ship she was in service to now she missed their fun songs and fermented filled chaos. She missed seeing the kitchen hard at work and missed a busy hour preparing for the prime meal hours.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the snack preparations in between would bring her so much joy. She pondered her past experiences as she drove through space passing a large planet by seeing its hues of blues and reds swirl almost combating the other in an epic battle that would never end. She would have hoped her friend would have been pulled into the gravity field there and landed on solid ground. She was not that lucky according to her radar.
She felt she was getting closer to their location and would be grateful. She was almost closing in on half her fuel reserves and would need enough to either get to a fuel post or back to the ship. She brought to view the other tracker which would hold the mothership’s signatures. They were not far from where she left them but they were on the move and voila needed to hurry.

Voila remembers the things she’s passed already and it was more than she expressed already. From broken ships to colorful planets. She wasn’t going to make any stops her currency storage was for emergencies only. But she could see some increased traffic between a planet and its moons she was very far away but the lights of a colonized port across the moons surface was something that she didn’t see often.
It was neat but she was preventing the temptation to stop and eat a decent meal or resting a bit. She had to get this mission done with more than anything else.
The ship was getting roomier with the fact she is rationing out her food supply so she has enough to last the trip. She was a being with a lot of energy and without a steady access to food she burned it up quickly. Now she could shape herself however she wanted with relative ease but even that felt like a waste of energy to upkeep all the time. She was not so vain that appearances beyond the relaxing comfort of herself were something she felt she needed to change on a whim.
She stayed her course and felt a new determination she was seeing the Blip on her radar now which means she was getting closer to them. She was still so far away but hope was within sight.
After that she will return home and vet heart will weigh a bit lighter.
Occasionally she was asked to sent a transmission back to the ship to let them know how everything was going and today she would just go ahead and write it.
She would bring up a diagnosis of the ship and all its status results as well as her food supply, over all well being, and current coordinates. All this was a lengthy note on her expedition. She didn’t know who would look at these notes. Maybe it was one of the Quarter masters as well as the engineers. This list would encompass a range of eyes that would look it over and determine if she needed to note any changes in her ships well-being. It might even go up to the first mate to give it a once over approval but if anything was not wrong they might not contact her.
As for her wellness it was a small paragraph about whatever she felt like adding. Or so she was told. So she would note the elation she would see about the shortening distance between her and the wayward escape pod was within view of the tracker. She would note how she couldn’t wait to get back and cook a good sturdy meal for the whole ship and eat plenty of it too. She mentioned specifically how she missed a couple of recipes for sure. She would once again mention how grateful she was she was given a satchel of sampling spices from the kitchen to help her. She says it brings her closer to being back than anything.
Over all she kept it optimistic. She felt very far away and the single cabin felt a bit roomier than the escape pod but there was definitely a level of remaining uncertainty that she was still a misstep away from floating in space forever.
She felt that she wouldn’t wish this on anyone and it drove her to know this jettisoned pod could very well be feeling the same.

She felt a new beginning brew. She woke up and something felt different. Her past didn’t matter, her ties were cut, and she felt like she was awake again for the first time.
While this day will start like any other, on the crew of faces she has decided to align herself with, she felt it was different. She looked out her window and the space was vast. Her solo excursion through it reminded her much of the drifting ship she found herself on after their planet escape.
Voila just had herself. There was not much else she had, but as long as she had herself in its truest regard. She was confident with that.
She got up out of bed and dressed in her uniform. She would think of the menus for today. By now she knew all the details by heart. Everything from here was her true new start. She could very possibly make a legend of herself or live out her days in humble livings. She certainly will last a while she felt that in her make. Who made her even mattered very little. It did not weigh her mind.
What a bright day this was, what winds were going to carry them. She had a shiver of excitement and elation travel to every tip of her appendages. A smile that grew on her face which creased her cheeks of joy. The magic that swirled like butterflies in her gut. One might think she was in love. While she only had herself on her mind she felt that was all she needed. The truth she felt would not cloud her mind was that she was who she needed to be.
The rest was to be written.

Voila would understand that the crew was preparing to schedule a job over one particular planet which has become a war zone. This one was spreading a lot of rumors about it being a huge ordeal. High dollar equipment, expensive materials, and Full military hardware.
She met a Majin on that Planet and as she understood she knew Pocus was on the ground level for it all.
Voila wondered what she’ll be tasked with this time? Someone with a variety of skills could be transporting supplies or emergency services to the search parties, being in a search party, or one of the harder positions that required her to go hand to hand in.
She searched her mind for any thing that might help but she hadn’t really been given a whole lot of information since she had yet to be designated a position to her Makers. She was nearly a blank slate other than the knowledge she was encoded with from the mold.
Suppose she had her magic for sure. The various aspects of that skill would prove useful.
She wasn’t very battle hardened though. Suppose she should improve her training on that point of view.
There was a group of people in a very special group of the crew which basically were the major muscle and the most skilled fighters. Many stood guard day in and day out alternating shifts. The kitchen often leaves food out for late graveyard shift crew-members but only a couple of cooks will be assigned to that shift to make a warm meal for that much of the crew.
She had covered for a crew mate on a couple of those shifts. It was very quiet and casual. So casual that she was actually asked to take off for a nap when she was seen nodding off as she wasn’t used to such late shifts. It had its own liveliness however, they didn’t have the higher authority looming over their shoulders as much. They had a close bond.
Anyway, as she was considering joining the muscle of the crew for a few lessons she heavily considered what her schedule would look like and felt it was tight. She wouldn’t really be able to commit to either duty.
So how does a Majin like her grow stronger efficiently without taking away from her duties in the kitchen?
She had a thought!
Deliveries!
She often made frequent supply runs scheduled for the Crew but if she got more involved in that particular area she would do more lifting and more heavy duty work. It also meant she would drive or fly more often. It can also educate her on Commerce as well as resource.
She was already heading into the office to offer her services they made a worthwhile schedule with her that split her time in the kitchen as well as time for Deliveries. And like clockwork she was going to do three days in the Kitchen and two on Delivery Runs. This added a day of the week she contributed to her duties as a crew member but took away a day she was on Kitchen staff. Even more important she would be able to choose a partner.
A partner of someone she would trust to be strong and responsible in case something went wrong. She felt Racq was strong but she was unsure about her point of view on going to work just yet. the Majin just had a very long trip out in space. Voila felt it might be unfair to drag her on a whole new excursion before she’s had the proper amount of time to process the ordeal.
She’ll have to think about this a bit more. At least for the moment she’ll have a training partner until she is accustomed to the duties she is tasked with so it should be no problem.

Using one of a couple of vehicles Voila would join a more seasoned delivery worker to show her the ropes of her new job. They were given a list of cargo to check, a route to follow and a list of contacts to deliver to. Today she would be aiding to drop off the items the ship sold in auction.
Homes, meeting locations, and drop off points all accumulated on a list with specific instructions. It’s better we know where these items are going to go than have them end up with the wrong person.
There was a bit to remember and a bit to understand. She realized she didn’t know how to drive and she wasn’t exactly licensed for that kind of vehicle. She thought since she knew how to fly then it was all she needed.
That’s not exactly the case. She sighed heavily on the amount of time, testing, and paperwork she was having to go through. It didn’t seem like they could simplify these laws and regulations to shorten the hassle on life but she would have to hold up on driving until she took a whole course and a whole test.
For the bigger picture she would endure.
She sat through the courses and tested well. Driving was not much different from flying a ship but it was less… freeing.
She found out there was far more rules and guidelines she had to follow and these rules had to be different in many areas of towns, cities, nations, and planets. It was hard to keep track. But she pushed through.
When she wasn’t doing that she was working and it filled her schedule to the brim. When she could sleep she was near by Raca making sure the Majin was cared for.
She had new responsibilities and was becoming a hardworking member of the ship. The rewards aught to be sweet.
