"I should make decoys." Mirin would suddenly say, Hecate twisting her owly head to look at her.
"Like for my baby egg child. It's valuable. Someone will want to take my baby child egg."
Hoot.
Hecate gets it.
As Mirin walked the streets, she could see a street gambler doing some sorta switchy thing with cups and a marble underneath one. Intrigued, Mirin would approach and the man would tell her for only twenty-five zenny, she could gamble to double her money. BUT. She had to guess the correct cup.
"Easy. 'Tis the one covering the marble." she'd say confidently.
The man would laugh in annoyance.
"Right. But you gotta guess which one it is."
"Oh. That one." she points at the marble in front of the middle cup that had yet to even be concealed. The man frowns.
"We haven't started yet. Are you playing? Pay up first."
Mirin would glare.
"You play dirty. You make rules up as you go."
"I don- listen. Are you paying up or not?"
"Very well."
She gives him twenty five bills of tens. Apparently she doesn't know the difference in value. The man's eyes would widen.
"You're confident! We'll see how that works out for ya!"
And so he covers the marble, switches them around, and then stops and looks at Mirin.
"Which is it?"
"You changed their positions quickly. How am I to know?"
"That's YOUR issue. Shoulda been paying attention. Now pick."
Mirin would point randomly to the left.
Empty.
"Sorry. Better luck next time!"
She lost!? Incredulously, she hands him over more bills.
"Once more!"
"Alright. Here we go!"
The cups are moves and flipped around. Mirin is sure she's following the marble one.
"Middle."
Empty.
"That's another miss for the Miss!" he'd laugh. Hecate would hoot in her ear. It seems there was a ploy. The marble was in none of the cups. Hecate's superior eyesight saw him flick the marble out. There was no way to win. Mirin understood this with the single noise.
She locked eyes with the man. He stared back.
"Burst Knuckle."
She sends a flurry of punches at the scammer, knocking his shit out before bending down to recollect her money. Then she knocks over his stall and walks away.
"That gave me an idea. Remember the decoys? Well I could not discern one cup from the other. What if I can replicate the egg many times? An illusion, perhaps." she'd grin to herself. Once she was far enough away from civilization, Mirin would set her egg down before starting to speak in demon tongue, weaving a new spell together from the energies around her. Once she felt like she had the correct formula, she'd point at the egg.
"Mirage~!"
From the original spawned two, then four, then six more eggs all lined up.
"They aren't solid and they'll disappear when interacted with..." she'd explain to no one in particular, poking one of the illusionary eggs.
"But they're good enough to fool for even a moment."

Mirage- Something of a parlor trick, using 10% PL, Mirin can copy an object or person sixfold. They act exactly like the object/person but cannot touch or be touched. When touched, they disappear.
