"Why are you apologizing?"
He said, tossing the ruined heap of metal to the side as he rolled his eyes. He doubted she meant the apology because it was stupid to apologize. He wasn't about to apologize for any discomfort and pain he had inflicted on her. That was the point of the exercise.
"Forcing you to use power far above the output of my suit was my primary objective. I see no reason that you should apologize because I won."
Unless she was talking to herself, but that was just a weird ritual if true.

"I was apologizing for my lose of control... I totally did not have to completely demolish it. Using more than necessary is not very smiled upon where I was taught. It is... overkill and that to some is a waste, to others a lack of discipline in the warrior."
She rolled her neck and shoulders. To Rhona, Bana was such a weird dude and his sister was not much different. He saw things one way and often it was not the way the intention or meaning went to. Rhona was accustomed to having more emotion in with these things. He was not one of the kinds of people she was used to interacting with it... most people just understood when she admitted she was wrong... Bana saw it as a waste of breath to feel such a thing. It was not bad... just weird.

"I'd call it efficient. What if you had hit it and not destroyed it. That's a waste of energy."
Standing up he turned to face her, crossing his arms over his chest once more as he looked her up and down one more time. This time a lot slower than when he'd been thinking about what she would look good in. She was physically fit. Young. In her prime. His scans confirmed that she was far stronger than him physically, and his current suit wasn't up to specifications to match her in an outright power struggle. The truth of the matter was the blast that she had just used on his pod if it struck him could very well kill him.
And yet, despite all of her physical strength he couldn't see her as something to be intimidated by. Certainly not something to fear. And if his scans and the archival of average Human strength from the Alliance military force was accurate, then she was without a doubt the strongest human alive. But if it came to war, Earth would lose with Rhona as their Champion. The thought was enough to send him sputtering out a laugh.
"You know Rhona. If our people ever went to war. There is no doubt in my mind I'd be able to kill you."
He bet she'd hesitate if it came down to it.

Her next silent thought was "What if it hit you instead Bana?" But with his next sentence it would have confirmed just that. Not sure if something like that would have killed him this time. But next time she lost her focus and control who's to say another story would be written out.
Rhona was only now begining to find out that Bana has the makings a cold killing machine. "If I have enough reason to think I needed to stop you, It does not mean I will have to kill you to make that happen." Her arms folded across her chest.
She'd not resort to killing... but if the case ever came she will not hesitate to become a Wall.

"Thinking like that is how soldiers die."
You not only had to be ready to die for your cause, but to kill for it. War wasn't fun and games, and drawing lines in the sand about what you will or won't do will just get yourself, and other soldiers killed. Battle calculus was cruel and didn't take into account people's feelings. It was a shame for her species that their strongest potential protector was so soft.
"Free advice for you. In the spirit of the peace talks going on right now."
He'd say as he turned his back to her again and began to actually gather up his broken pods. He'd still need to fix them up, and he was reluctant to just leave his technology laying around for people to pick up and poke around with.
"After you go home if you decide to stick around and try to be a protector for it. Get comfortable killing with your own hands or watching your people die for your hesitation."
With the Saiyan's out there still, war was inevitable.

That made her eyes grow dull and dark. Her heart beat paced and began to pump her blood faster than before. the gross feeling in her arm... something she had not felt in a long time, resurfaced and became apparent again.
"Bana..." They were so different... but their stories were not as far apart as she might have thought. It was just their outcomes were completely different. Maybe she was a coward... But she took one person's life and ran away. Was Bana strong for shoving his feelings aside to fulfill the mission? He was just as passionate as she was to take revenge and gain back the pride that was lost from the Rising Sun. But it did not do any of that for her.
Still... she shoved that gory memory back in her mind but kept the lesson from that night at the fore front of her entire being. "... Dont take this the wrong way, but I am not going to do that." Not because she would not be strong enough not to. "We are not going to see eye to eye on this, I can tell already, but that is not how I've grown to understand things. I can find strength to protect what I believe is right. Maybe it is a naive thought... but I'd rather not see the life drain from someones eyes again..."
She began to walk past him as he picked up his pods and fully intended to leave with just those words as her final resolve. Even so a dark cloud hovered over her head as with the resurfacing of painful memories were slow to sink back down.

His advice was just that. Advice, she was free to take it or ignore it as she saw fit. He knew enough about Humanity and Earth to know that their existence was fundamentally different. And maybe she herself could go without getting entangled in war and death. But her species had a history of war. His species had paid the price for being peaceful and now they were resolved to not make the same mistake. It was hard to not see that mirrored in her. Because while she may be resolved to find a way to protect what she thought was right without killing. But even she admitted that was a naive thought. There were forces out there that would not stop at words, and that would fight with their dying breath to kill for what they believed in.
It was a lesson hard learned for his people. And it would probably be one hard learned for her. Because he did not believe someone of her power would be kept free from conflict. She will draw it to her.
He didn't turn to face her or offer he a snappy comment as she walked past him. Instead he simply let out a slow deep breath. Watching the light fade from someones eyes was unfortunately one of those things that got easier the more often you saw it happen. And it wasn't that he enjoyed killing, but it was a part of life. And turning his back on that would be turning his back on his family, his friends, and his people. It would be turning his back on their history and everything they'd lost.
He could understand her desire to not have to take a life. But sometimes it was unavoidable. And with so many organics reaching such anomalous power levels. Galactic stability would be shaken. That was an inevitable fact. And when that happened people will die.
