Okara didn't know whom he was fighting. Everyone gathered around the board...but he stood at the entryway to the arena, hands at his sides. He wore traditional Saiyan garb, purple in color.
As they called his name, he stepped out onto the platform, the crowd going wild. By now, his part in defending against the invasion was well known...but he doubted they would understand. He fought for pride, and for Aisuko. Not them. For all he cared, this meager planet could burn.
Stepping out, he'd seek his enemy, prepared for war.

With a bird's eye view, Keerie looked over the arena. She had no more clue who she would be facing than anyone else in the tournament. It was a wonder she entered, to begin with. True, it was well within her Saiyan nature to crave combat and challenge...but it was also in her nature to be the underwhelming force when it came to potentials in this area.
Putting her abilities on display might actually push her to the max--
Okara?
Keerie's lips drew into a smile, one reserved for her and any birds that were aloft enough to see.
She felt him all the way in space, when he was fighting on Namek. She couldn't tell his exact power level from there, nor could she, now...but he was strong. Stronger, even, since then.
Okara certainly made her proud.
The blonde - her hair fine blonde fuzz, now - dropped from the sky like a stone as they started to announce his opponent as the crowd's cheers died down enough to do so. It was a free-fall, straight down!
...and only when she neared the ring floor did she expend enough power to come to a gentle stop, the tips of her booted toes touching with the force of a feather to the pad before she settled. She was on the far end, from him.
Her expression was neutral, if only for the fact they had an audience and she was used to exerting such control normally.
Had they been alone?
Keerie might have smiled, once more.
As it was she offered him a bow, in keeping with her own tournament traditions. She wore garb similar in cut and colour to his own.
That done, she settled square on her feet, hands held slightly out from her sides, at the ready...until one lifted and she gave him Dahveid's classic wave on, her four fingers bending a couple times.
'Come, Okara. Let us see what you can do.'

Okara's lips parted.
"M-mother....?"
It was the faintest whisper that slipped past his lips as she bowed. Her long, proud blonde locks were gone....what sort of new devilry was this!? He'd fought his mother many times....but never had he beaten her. He was sure he was stronger than her....but technically, she had both experience and patience.
His brow came down as she waved him on, so he bowed and let out a short growl, an aura bursting to life around him. His muscles bulged, his hair flickered....and turned gold.
"HRRRRRAAAAAAAAAH-"
The earth shook a little, dirt and dust rising. He would let out a few slow breaths as the golden aura flashed around his form, letting out a little gust of wind.
He would burst forward, attempting a straight-forward right cross for her face. It was his usual stick with her- a direct, linear and one dimensional attack. However, he was leading her on. He hoped she would either step to the side and grab his wrist or simply dodge and attack, as he planned for both. Still, he stayed open minded- his mother had proven very difficult previously.

The one and only.
The blonde, however, with Okara's power level suddenly soaring, and an aura...wait, Karo had--Okara was--
Keerie's eyes widened, officially shocked.
And then she was swamped with pride as she unleashed her own aura. He was strong, but she was slightly stronger, even with his transformation. Still...she would give him a fight, if it was a brutal one. She had no intention of sparing him, even a little.
When he burst forward with one of his trademark openers she mentally chuckled...and the blonde had recovered from her initial shock.
With his punch coming in she would, indeed, snag his wrist. But instead of stepping to the outside as she did it, she pulled and twisted, throwing him over with a hoarse "HAHHHHH" to slam him to the arena floor, their auras clashing and crackling.
Momma wasn't playing.
If she had taken it easy on him right from the start, it would have been insulting to them both.
Assuming she did put him down at full power as planned, she immediately used her free hand to fire off a succession of quick blasts, right to his face, followed by one more as she let his wrist go.
"LIGHT GRENADE!"
She launched the blast and flung herself back, away from the resulting explosion with her arms crossed, assuming she'd been able to do as she wanted!

As she grabbed his wrist, his other hand would grab HER wrist, using her own pulling momentum to "cartwheel" in the air with her slam and land on his feet. He bared his teeth and, opening the hand of the wrist she held, would attempt to fire close range.
"CRASH BLAST-!"
He'd be aiming right for her chest.

Clever boy.
Tricksy son.
Keerie felt her heart swell with pride despite her surprise. Her feet collided with the arena floor and she bowed her body, her free hand twitching as five orbs of ki disembarked.
Her body was bowed in a bridge, and she chose to not let go of her son's wrist, instead using his upright positionfor leverage as she directed the balls around behind him and pulled them in.
"Oddball bu--!"
The crash-blast hit her square in the chest and sent her down against the ring, a small fissure of cracks spreading out as the blast and her own body dented it. Naturally, she let go of Okara's wrist...but those five bullets would...probably still hit?
So she assumed, even as she coughed and crossed her arms in front of herself.
Her clothes were torn and shredded, not more than a few moments in, and she felt pain radiate through her chest and core.
Good. Good! A good fight, this would be.
She let out a hoarse cry as she flared her power to essentially pick herself up with the wave of it. It crackled around her as she regained her feet.

As she released his wrist, he jumped left, three of the bullets being dodged while two caught his right side, exploding and violently rotating his body in the air to slam into the ground. The burned area was bleeding profusely from the sheer damage, but he came back to his hands and knees before pushing himself to his feet.
"Should have known fighting you like this was pointless. I was saving this for Aisu but....you're obviously more of a threat, mother."
His muscles bulged, doubling in size as his hair spiked further. The ground shook as he let out a scream, purple energy swirling with the gold as it burst forward, lightning crackling around his body.
"Game on."
He'd burst forward, intent now to fight her in ways he'd never done before. Stopping in front of her, crouched low, he'd aim to erupt into an uppercut, following it's possible contact with a spinning back-kick mid air.

Her son was full of surprises. And growth.
It was just an acknowledgement in the back of her mind as the blonde with her hair barely there sharpened her focus to an absolute. This new burst of power was truly surprising, as was the growth of his hair. She'd never...
Thought this was possible?
He seemed to disappear in a blur only to reappear below, and before she could react in a jump with a foot to his face, his fist slammed into her jaw and then she felt the imprint of his foot against her stomach as she was blown away.
She stopped herself with a hoarse cry, about the span of the arena away. More blood coloured her lips and her breath was raspy, but her voice was still powerful.
"KAIOKEN!" and seemingly on the same breath with an immediate upwards motion of her hands, palms to the sky, she followed up with: "BLAZING STORRRRRRRM!"
The resulting explosion would make a large crater, likely pelting the audience with dust and debris at best, blowing them away and more at worst.
But Keerie's aim was to try and put her son down, because she knew right now...there was no competing with him.
But she wouldn't roll over and let him win.

Throwing an X with his arms, and activating his "Dionysis", he absorbed her blast, screaming as his arms burned and stress pushed him back in the air. Gritting his teeth, he pushed his palm into the storm and let out a cry-
"CRASH BLAST!"
The shock of the influx of energy would create a wave of air, like a sonic boom, to blast out in a ring, his hair billowing backward as he screamed.

Her Kioken was burning off.
Fast.
She could only watch as her son's attack overran her own.
So she had the same few choices she had when it came to facing Dahveid's most devastating attack: she could try to run, she could stand and take it, or...
She screamed and burst from the ground - and if Dahveid was watching as she suspected he was, he would recognise the defiant quality to it - with arms crossed in attempt to burst through (but shooting higher to try and move at least somewhat above it).
The resulting force, though, pushed and blew her back...almost...with ease.
Her scream echoed within the blast and then was silent...and when the dust cleared.
It left the sight of the blonde, battered and bloody, barely able to push herself to her elbows. Her clothes were essentially shredded to scraps, her body was bloody and torn and even mangled... But her blue eyes, despite squinting, roved to look for her opponent.

Okara took several deep breaths, lowering himself to the ground before he would aim to vanish and appear at her side, grab the back of her shirt....and throw her body from the ring.
If that worked, he'd stand there in shock, staring at her fallen form.

It...didn't work.
In the brief time she had, his mother's power had stabilized. So while it hurt to even move...that was their specialty. So as she felt the grip...she inhaled sharply, gathering herself...and when he threw her, she shot a beam into the ground on the other end of the arena with a yell of exertion...
...and managed to slow herself enough that she could land back on somewhat shakey feet...and turn back towards Okara, wiping the blood away from her mouth with the back of her hand.
"...how...did you wind up getting so strong, so quickly..?"
If there could be anything that could be said for her tone, it seemed appreciative.

His brow drew down.
"I don't really remember. The Ice-jinn mixed monster that we were supposed to take home...took my life. I remember training with someone in the beyond, and then coming back."
He held up a fist.
"Now this power...."
He stared at her.

The words Dahveid said, that she pushed out of her mind, came back.
Sharp.
A harsh cacophony of sound as they mingled with Okara's.
With her blood singing with adrenaline and the heat of battle, the end of Okara's words had something inside her...crack.
Then shatter.
Keerie's arms drew in, bending at the elbow even as her fists clenched. Between their fight and everything inside her as a mother, she couldn't stamp down on her reaction. Couldn't save it for later, for privacy.
"RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
She couldn't see anything. It was a mixture of red rage and white shock. Her aura whipped and crackled around her, gusts of it sweeping out from where she stood as her power...shattered and then condensed in a surge!

Okara would narrow his gaze, and while a large part of him screamed to put a stop to her transformation before it took place....he would never deny his mother, a Saiyan warrior at heart, the birthright that was clearly hers.
He'd take a few steps back, lightning crackling around his body, and wait.
